Our visit to "Himalayan" turned out to be more than just a dinner; it was an exceptionally memorable experience. The menu offered a variety of authentic Nepalese dishes, each packed with flavor. The momos and chicken shashlik were a standout.
But what really made our evening special was the outstanding service. The staff at "Himalayan" went above and beyond, making us feel welcome and attended to at every moment. Our host was wonderful and you can't really get better service.
The real surprise came when the staff found out it was my wife's birthday. They brought out a dessert on the house and took the initiative to make her feel extra special, which added a personal touch to our experience.
We'll be back time and time again!
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Food was excellent and service was first class. One of my recent favourites. Highly recommended.
It started with the warmest welcome from Prakash. A wonderful host who somehow remembers every customers name. In fact he was so welcoming and enthusiastic about the food it felt only right to forgo the usual dhandqk and go full Himalayan. What a great choice it was too. The starter if Aloo Kerau Chapat was a delicious combination of spiced potato and juicy pea. The main was another winner - the chicken Himalayan choila - combined a sort of chicken salad served with most amazing puffed rice. Not your usual sauce or curry based fare. If you're in the Botanic area it's well worth a visit. Or just, you know, get walking and go there anyway.
As someone from Afghanistan I can say that this was the highest quality Asian food we have had in Belfast. 10/10
The people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Really nice atmosphere and very well priced. We will be back 100%.
Had the best meal amd experience on Wednesday! Absolutely brilliant staff, food was so nice I went forild this time as it tends to be quite spicy but cannot fault this place also right in the centre of botanic so an easy bus to it from city centre
Great atmosphere and customer service. The food was top quality and really tasty. It was my birthday and I was made to feel very special, staff and other dinners sung happy birthday, a popper popped and a lovely decorated plate with cake. Even though the restaurant was busy the service was on point and you were not rushed. I fully recommend a visit to this restaurant and guarantee you will be a returning customer! Poppadoms and dips yummy, lamb done in spices starter and chicken Kashmiri, pilau rice and p.nam, every bit of it beautiful. Thank you to all the staff for a fantastic meal and service.
I travelled to Belfast and went to this restaurant with my sister and cousin. The food was amazing, especially the biryani. The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. He remembered all of our names and made this restaurant a must visit. I highly recommend and if I was to return to Belfast, I'd make sure to visit.
Had an absolutely beautiful meal here for my son’s birthday. The staff were amazing and so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. Best meal out in a long time.
Friendly staff, excellent food.
They were very accommodating to our groups needs (incl vegan), there were lots of options, recommendations and we were made to feel special.
Really fantastic food, the service is also excellent. Two chillis - its a grade for 🔥- are okay. 🤩
We had a nice dinner here with chicken chowmein, chicken puri. I would suggest everyone to come here who are indian foodie…
I went to Belfast on holidays 2 years ago and still to this day I consider this restaurant the nicest food I’ve ever had. It was the most genuinely amazing food I’ve ever tasted. I’ve been to 3 continents since this and nothing has compared. I cannot recommend this enough. 10/10 would recommend, my girlfriend and I got two different curry’s and I’ve never experienced anything as good as them since.
Had an absolutely amazing birthday meal tonight! Great vegan options and the best service. Was even surprised with a dessert and a happy birthday song! So so impressed, delicious and best service imaginable.
We decided to try somewhere new for takeaway. The veggie starters were great and really enjoyed the chicken tikka kashmiri. However the other curry we ordered was a bit bland and we ordered an paratha which was for sure just a naan (it tasted good, but wasn't what we ordered).
The Most satisfying Nepalese/Indian food restaurant in the Belfast. This place maintains their unique identity by serving Nepalese food. Staff was courteous and service was good. Ambience is perfect for fine dine.
We had tried following dishes
Veg Momos - 2.5/5
Prawns Tandoori - 3/5
(It tastes delicious but it was not tandoor)
Veg Himalayan Chowmin 4.5/5
Prawns Himalayan curry 4/5
(This is highly Recommended but the quantity of gravy is sufficient for only single person)
Butter Naan 5/5
(The size of naan is perfect as compared to other indian restaurants in Belfast)
Gulabjamun 5/5
(Just perfect)
Host is absolutely exuberant and entertained us the whole meal with funny anecdotes and dancing. Meal itself couldn’t fault esp the dhal. Free cocktail after the meal ended the evening on a fun note! Highly recommend!
A lovely restaurant with staff who really care about customers. Went with my partner and when they found out it was our anniversary they made things very special for us. Even had a banner and cake. Would definitely recommend
Samatalis osman Qafaal
+5
Good selection of drinks, great food, and the restaurant itself had lots of window seats. The restaurant is actually on the 2nd floor and provides great views of the energetic street below.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Nepalese and Indian food. We hope to visit again because of the experience we were given.
Amazing service which felt personal. Food was next level, gorgeous!
Would recommend highly best Indian I’ve had. Will be back again and again definitely my go too :)
