Went twice while visiting PRONI. Amazing place, staffed by volunteers. There is no set price for coffee and trays bakes. It is all by donation. That days dosh pays for the next days nosh as the sign says. I can't speak highly enough of the service, Bryce, John , Jackie and the others who's names I don't know. They are super friendly and customer oriented. I had a lovely chat with a volunteer who had a son living near me in Canada. Small world.
There are comfy couches to relax on, lots of seating and tables. There are also picnic tables outside. The Cafe is accessible via a ramp.
Please visit and donate to a good cause.
Amazing discovery whilst I was visiting Belfast. It is the perfect place to enjoy a scone and cup of tea/coffee. They don't offer meals however you are welcome to bring food in from elsewhere and enjoy the atmosphere. There are a range of seating options from sofas to bar stools, and there are books to read during your visit or you can spend some time in the prayer garden, not to mention all of the incredible local artwork on display. The volunteers are super friendly and the whole café runs on the donations of the customers which is an excellent initiative. Would recommend to anyone who is nearby.
Its was my first time here. I had a tea and bits of cakes. It was really nice and a real lovely atmosphere, staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend!
Never seen anything like this before. Staff were super friendly and explained fully how it all worked. We popped down the road for some hot food and returned to eat our food there and had a cup of tea and a really nice slice of cake called a haystack (sort of coconut sponge)
Fantastic place to enjoy a coffee and cake, have what you like pay what you think is fair or can afford. A great idea and lovely staff. They don't do hot food just cakes, scones and tray bakes, but you are welcome to bring hot food in from the local spar 2 min away. Right in the Titanic qtr. plenty of picnic tables outside.
Manned by volunteers, the cafe is such a unique idea. We chanced upon it after our visit to the Titanic Belfast. Beautiful place to just chill out and rest our feet after spending hours in the museum. Kudos to the volunteers.
Pay as you wish.
Such a cute little place! We randomly stumbled upon it when looking for a place to drink coffee, and it was such a kind and welcoming atmosphere that only asked for donations. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the selection of teas were brilliant! Would definitely go again!
It was so pleasantly surprising for me to discover that this cafe serves everything for free and the donation is entirely on the visitor 's will/ voluntary. Harry, the owner of the cafe is so gracious and a perfect gentleman who receives guests (every single person walking in) with the same smile, humility and compassion and checks on the health and well being. The ladies at the counter/ kitchen serve tea, coffee and food items with the same compassion and grace. The cafe is well kept and spacious and ventilated with enough sunlight lighting the entire space. A good collection of books is available on the shelves for the reader in you.
The cafe has a special prayer room and stationery to write down your wishes and prayers and pin to the wired tree at the center.
Harry personally said prayers for me and spent a good time talking and discussing things with me.
It's a must visit cafe and so our part/ bit to contribute towards something very good and humane.
They have provided food and shelter to so many people, who did not have food and home and during tough times.
Felt light and inspired!!!
What an awesome concept. There are no prices as such for the food, everything is served on a donation basis only. Lovely tea and nice coffee. The staff were super friendly and welcomed us in. We were looking for a place for lunch and as they didn’t serve lunch here suggested we went to spar to buy something, which we did.
We had some cake there and paid £10 for it all, well worth a visit
Amazing atmosphere! Perfect place to spend some time reconnecting with yourself or connecting with kind hearted strangers in the volunteer staff. People are so friendly and lovely to chat with. This cafe provides the ultimate combo with coffee, a treat, warmth from the elements and a warm fuzzy feeling in your tum tum. Thank you guys for the excellent hospitality. All the best!
We had a good time chatting, getting to know each other, and making this special for Halloween
The Dock Café is a lovely place where you can go in and choose to pay whichever amount you want in the form of a donation. The people in there were absolutely lovely with big hearts who cared about their community and the people around them. It was very refreshing to get to a place where the focus on people is so strong. Cheers!
Honesty cafe, plain simple cakes /pastries /tea /coffee, pay what you feel is a fair price.
Decor is Belfast themed and very easy to look at, ceiling bit industrial looking but who's complaining.
Staff are friendly.
Coffee /tea are basic.
Tray bakes / buns are delicious.
Does well with a mixed crowd from the college across the road, tourists and local office staff.
I've been twice and both occasions I've been impressed.
Its was my 1st time here I was my son he had a hot chocolate and I had a tea and both had a tray bake each. It was really nice and a real lovely atmosphere also staff were very friendly before leaving we went into the wee prayer garden bit. I will definitely be back again.
I can recommend without reservation, this cafe I supposeI would describe a community based cafe. Served good strong coffee and cake and asked for a contribution for payment. A refreshing change. I applaud this community spirited establishment. Well done 👏 great helpful friendly staff.
Such a great place, it’s like a trendy eclectic cafe without the fussiness. It’s the perfect stop off after a walk around the Titanic Quarter. There are comfortable couches as well as chairs & tables. We had 4 generations in our group, from 3 months to 92 years young. They weren’t serving soup the day we visited but they allowed us to go & bring other food in for our lunch, we then had coffees & some tray bakes & paid a fair price. The staff were really friendly too! We will be back 😊
Great place, friendly staff and really brilliant initiative. They don’t charge for any of their products but work on a donation style, and non for profit business. You pay what you feel to be fair. Would highly recommend and to donate a few quid for such a great initiative.
The Dock Cafè is situated in the Titanic quarter in Belfast.
It is run by mostky volunteers and is a friendly place with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Lovely wee coffee shop never met nicer staff and the placs has no prices on menu. It works off donations. Would recomend just for the staff and view scones where lovely.
