From Australia wanting some Irish traditional experience for our Son. Music was brilliantly authentic, Irish Stew was superb, the noisy chatter of locals created a wonderful atmosphere. Our autistic son loved it which is amazing as noise is usually an issue. Staff are amazing and went out of their way to ensure our experience was excellent 😍😍😍
We have ordered the seafood chower, the 10oz ribeye, and the stew. The ribeye is well cooked and served with fresh fries and tomatoes. The seafood chowder is superb delicious, but the Irish stew is not very good. It is the oldest tavern in Belfast that is established in 1630. Many others order a pint of Guinness, and listen to the music in such a historic place and enjoy the atmosphere.
Very nice pub, extremely friendly employees! The food was good and fast, no problem in accomodating a small change...
Great music, too.
I guess this is the new part of whites. It has a copy restarant bar inside, or sit outside and people watch. We went during the week it was quite. Didn't buy any food. Bar service was great.
Absolutely loved visiting Whites the 2 times we were in the centre of Belfast, their Irish stew is to die for its absolutely incredible and really tasty. Love the oldy atmosphere and the open fire. It's an incredible place to have lunch or pint or 2
To be fair to whites I only sat in the corridor type bar, the others may be completely different. The food looked decent enough pub grub. My biggest grip is that like many of the bars in Belfast it now seems geared towards tourists. Never thought I would write that sentence. And my other general gripe is the lack of local beer brands. In the city centre only a few serve anything other than what the brewers command. So they all seem the same.
A group of friends blew through town three years ago and have not forgotten our stay here. The food was a joy, and the service for folks still trying to navigate Belfast was beyond helpful. This is a prime stop for travelers to this beautiful city.
A brief visit with a good friend this afternoon. Very welcoming atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and professional - they also pour a great Guinness, so top marks there. The facilities for the ladies are well maintained too which is a total plus point for a business in the centre of the city. Well done all round. We will definitely be back 😊
This tavern is truly iconic, a typical Irish brewery! Soft lights and local music and lots of beer! A place certainly not to be missed!
Delicious food and friendly staff. Took a while for our food to arrive - quite slow service but worth the wait!
Wonderful historic venue. Feels like a gem tucked away. Friend recommended I visit on my 1 evening in the city - very glad I went!
Guinness only bar, which is why we visited. They do Guiness cocktails and also let you poor your own pint for a small fee. Great barman who was so knowledgeable about Guinness.
Lovely wee traditional Irish pub. It's dimly lit and has a nice warm, cosy fire. There is a good atmosphere one of friendliness and joyfulness as the pub generally attracts lots of tourists. The pub has Irish folk music playing most of the time too. Combine it all together with a tasty pint of Guiness from the bar (the bar counter itself is quite unique considering how short it is by today's standards, which, I must say, only adds to the charm) and you have a this wonderful cosy feeling in a room full of chat, laughter, music and craic. Would highly recommend anyone to visit it.
Great food and live music.
Very reasonably priced
Popped in for lunch while out shopping and loved it. Been years since I had last visited but this visit didn't disappoint. Food was amazing and so fresh. The service was excellent and we had a great time. Not expensive either, would highly recommend.
Had food and drinks here for a work night out. We had booked a table which I would recommend. The staff were all very friendly and despite it being very busy I feel they were all trying their best and continued to be friendly and attentive. I was really impressed when I went to buy a round of drinks and the women behind the bar had memorised our drinks order. Very impressive given that there was around 10 people in our party so therefore 10 drinks orders! The majority of us had food which was lovely. Tasted fresh, good quality ingredients and didn’t take long to come. Would really recommend Whites.
Had to wait a while to get served in the new bar. Then, caught on, it was quicker to go threw to the next door older bar to get served as it wasn't as busy and had staff doing nothing. Placement delegation of bar staff needs to be addressed, but a good atmosphere.
