Great spot that was recommended last minute by one of the staff of the Europa when we told him what kind of place we were looking for.
We were looking for a comfortable rustic bar with a good atmosphere (not too quiet as we had a couple of 10 year olds in the group) and with really good quality food and drinks.
This was exactly what we were looking for, atmosphere was perfect, music playing but not too loud at all, staff were brilliant, unbelievably attentive and really quick with drinks orders and any requests we had, service was definitely 5 stars for us on this particular experience.
Quite a strong menu, there was a lot of stuff I wanted to order, basically I would have eaten anything off the menu which is always good, not too experienced with prices in Belfast City centre but for the quality of the food and service we got I was pretty satisfied, I got the duck breast which was perfectly cooked and a really high quality meal, so that was another 5 stars from me.
I went for the Peroni draft beer option, really gorgeous pint, a bottle of white wine was ordered for the table and apparently that was gorgeous too, the seating and lighting and all round atmosphere was fantastic, just really relaxed and definitely the kind of place I could have easily spent a few hours in, definitely another time without the kids lol.
Toilets were spotless clean, although the men’s toilets were out of use due to a fresh paint job but had a look in and saw a good spacious clean area with plenty of cubicles and the likes, accessible bathroom was available for men at the time.
So all in all had a great experience at Sweet Afton and will definitely be returning and highly recommend to anyone heading to Belfast city with or without the kids.
Me and my partner went in last week scallops and goats cheese wow great our favourite went in today didn’t disappoint service was great. Amy who served us last week made us feel comfortable and is very good at what she does great job will definitely return 💯
Went inside for a diner for 2, wasn't disappointed at all. Ordered 2x the sirloin steak (medium rare) and the caramel syrup fudge as desert.
The sirloin steak came with fries and a peppers sauce. All was very tasteful and enjoyed this fully.
The wine came in a dirty glass and asked the waiter to get a new one, without hesitation he took the old ones and gave a new one.
The live music was a bit too loud to have a normal conversation with someone.
It's a little bit over-priced in my opinion but the atmosphere was ok, and the food was good.
Lovely family meal! Cocktails are £9! Food was delicious and something for everyone. I had the scallop and prawn risotto and it was perfect. Ciara was fab - so attentive and great craic.
Loved our starter and main tonight. The squid and duck were wonderful. The ginger beer battered fish and chips could have been a little more ginger but good with good chips. Strange that when asked for Malt vinegar waiter offered only white vinegar? Never heard of that in my 69 years. He indicated that Malt vinegar was a strange choice. Maybe a Northern Ireland 'thing'. However service was normal. Somewhat attentive without being intrusive. A few more check backs would have been nice although we did have a wonderful time and may or may not have ordered more if asked. Smashed peas were awesome.
Had the Korean Chicken Wrap, tasty food and surprisingly filling
A delightful, cozy pub/restaurant just minutes away. Delectable cuisine and an unbeatable location make it truly splendid.
Warm, welcoming atmosphere. There was a space available for us when we arrived and we were seated quickly. The service was a little slow, but very friendly. Food was tasty, but the soup a little salty for my taste. Star marked down because I ordered a pint of soda and lime with no ice, and was brought a pint glass about 3/4 full, and was told that was where the ice would've been. That's pretty and tight, to my mind. Otherwise great! The love music was also the perfect level and very good
They put the premier league match on - only sound for half because there was live music on beforehand (really talented musician) felt a shame to have one interrupt the other. All in all a really nice, airy, space !
Booked our table a week before our visit. Adhering to track and trace.lively bar and restaurant with a real buzz. Food was delicious - pork belly cubes were succulent and so moreish and my fish was huge with crispy light batter. The staff were friendly and professional and had a bit of craic with the customers. I would recommend their French martini - well done to the very busy barmen.
I really enjoyed the fish which came with tartar sauce. The fish was tender and delicate, just absolutely delicious. However, the spicy smashed peas on the side failed to impress me.
Food was good, steak sandwich especially, very dark inside though, service was good
We came here off the recommendation of the concierge at the Grand Central Hotel, Niall. We loved our dining experience. The staff, food, and atmosphere were terrific. We highly recommend!
Just spent a brilliant afternoon in Sweet Afton, with family having a lovely meal, listening to great live music, being served by very friendly and attentive staff, 👍
