This is great place to have a romantic dinner for 2 or a family dinner. It is a good bar to catch up with friends and have a nice night out. When you walk into The Poet you don't feel out of place or people are looking at you the way you feel sometimes in other bars. Staff are really friendly.

My friend and I decided to eat something before going ice staking at the Ice Bowl.
The Poet offered a two course for £20 deal so we decided to sit in. The food was delicious with good sized portions. The staff was very friendly.

I've had lunch 3 time recently thoroughly enjoyable experience. Then today called in for coffee and scones so impressed I'm going tomorrow morning again.
Saturday night. Last minute decision to go out. No problem getting a table. A little noisy as football team in, after their match. Felt their choice on menu had downsized a bit, but still served tasty food - Starters Prawn cocktail and Breaded Brie followed by mains - Peppered Chicken Stack on mash , Steak Sandwich/ pepper sauce on Ciabatta with Skinny Chips. White wine choice.

Really good fish dishes for me as a non meat eater. Sea bass and prawn risotto which chef tweaked for me. Beautifully cooked. Great portion size and reasonably priced.Yes Waiter service super friendly. Nice atmosphere.
1st time here tonight with family and boy was it good . Soz I didn't take pictures as I wasn't expecting it to be do good . We had bbq chicken wings delicious and steak and honey glazed goujons my partner and I shared this and our friend's had burgers and chicken stack and they all where amazing . The pepper sauce was so tasty . Tbh best meal I've had in a v long time . Great friendly helpful staff xx
Called in here whilst out on a cycle along the greenway. It had a really nice relaxed friendly atmosphere and was nice sitting out in the sun until the rain started. Of special note was the superb guinness poured by young chap behind the bar who was excellent at his work. A really good pint which had be stay for 3 more than planned.
First time here for something to eat. Have been recommend by friends. Lovely young girl served us. Our meal was delish. And the service couldn't of been any better. Would highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, great cocktails and selection of beers! Took my wife here for a birthday drink and it was so welcoming that we ended up having a few more. Definitely worth visiting! Don't hesitate to ask the bartender for suggestions!
Great atmosphere with friendly bar staff and customers. Food is just like your normal pub grub.
Just popped in for a couple of cappuccino and a chinwag with an old friend. Service was very friendly and efficient. Cappuccinos were good, served hot and with a smile from the barman. Would definitely return for dinner based on the experience today. Good service always merits a return trip.
