The food was incredible and the staff were very helpful. The balance of spices was perfect, I loved the authentic Bangladeshi flavor in their food. I plan go there again on my next trip to Belfast.

Fabulous evening with friends. First time here. Food was delicious and the staff very attentive. Reasonably priced for a very good Indian Restaurant. Will definitely go back. I'm not a big drinker but they offer beautiful Mocktails

Delicious food, service was fantastic. Food was hot and the servers were there for anything you needed. There was so much food, they kindly packed up all the leftovers to have later. It wasn't too busy either so it created a nice atmosphere to have dinner.

Excellent restaurant to visit. The service here is top notch. If you dropped a fork they'd already be there with a clean one before you can ask. The food was exceptional, served hot and tasted very fresh. Everything we had was cooked perfect. Would recommend for groups and couples.

We had a lovely meal on Christmas day at the Bengal and I would like to thank all the staff who were so welcoming and attentive , even to the point of giving us all a very well thought out present.
Thank you once again for your hospitality, and wishing you all a Happy New Year and Best Wishes. Ruth and Ena.

Bengal Brasserie...total disappointment. This prestige venue would appear to have all the credentials in the name & premises....even the menu appears to be credible with a wide variety of delicious sounding dishes...even with chilli ratings to deter the unwary from venturing into the unknown.
The price range is amongst the highest per main course in the area, which could have indicated "not low cost may be good"...
The dishes we ordered came a little too quickly (always an indication that the meat is dunked into pre made sauces)...the actual presentation is excellent - whoever plates up makes what is offered look better than it actually is.
My wife's choice of Chicken Tikka Masala was in fact a large shallow plate of sauce with very little chicken the actual amount was about four reasonable mouth-fulls
...the taste was menu listed as being mild this dish actually tested sickly "sweet"...she asked if she had the right dish....the waiter explained that mild automatically meant sweet. This applied to all dishes.
My choice of Chicken Biriani looked good but on delving into the camouflage rice the same amount or maybe less chicken was found...so I was left eating a rice dish with sauce that was to say the least poor. The vegetable curry side dish served with the Biriani was virtually tasteless as a curry dish.
We left almost 1/2 the food that was served even though we were quite hungry.....on seeing this the one member of staff (appearing to be in charge) explained that indian or more correctly asian food in Northern Ireland wasn't tempered to the Northern Irish palette (that is not very hot) i.e they didn't do that "they wouldn't have a business" .....my thoughts are that any customer can select the milder dishes or stay away.
We questioned as to how this offering in his opinion compared to other venues such as Gingeroot (& others), as there if a more "spiced" or hotter dish was chosen it was served that way...realistically spicier & hotter (not that hot denotes a better standard of food) but what is stated in the menu is served honestly.
The gentleman we spoke to actually stated "he wouldn't eat here" as the food made & served was far too bland, he was polite & asked where we normally ate this type of food & what we were making comparison with...
My comparisons were (& still are) quite plausible & simple - any reasonable mainland indian or asian restaurant could compare this specific Bengal Brasserie standard...naming the best places we have eaten in (& return to when travelling on business are): 1st Lasan - Birmingham, 2nd Rasa - Newcastle, equal 2nd Kiplings - any of the three in West Yorkshire, 3rd Mumtaz & Akbars - Bradford...I could name many more even some takeaways are far better in all aspects, quality, realism, quantity & value for money....if only the many places in the curry mile Manchester could tap into the business opportunity that exists in Belfast.
In mentioning value for money 32 pounds for two main courses, one Naan bread & a very overpriced bottle of Kingfisher - 660 ml at 5 pounds 50 pence, is incredible bordering on the audacious.
It was the offer of Baileys on the house that took my breath away as if something seemingly free wold compensate for what I consider an apology even an insult for supposed Indian / Asian food.
Never again.
