Visited on August 17, 2018. Great fresh food - we ordered steak and cod! Great service and atmosphere! It was our first night in Belfast, and the owner was a pleasure and fun to chat with. He gave us some amazing advice on places to visit!

Had staff night out after Christmas. Great atmosphere and staff were friendly. Food was great although my hake main course didn't come with any sauce, partly my own fault (was a little too merry to notice initially). I felt the drinks were on the pricey aide. All in all I was impressed!

I like that it has a more open, less cluttered, interior than the other restaurants in the square, and things like the soft seats in the windows and the lights throughout. The food has been good the two times I've been. Drink selection was decent as well (local beers available). Enjoyed it both times and hope to be again in future

Good food (really enjoyed the hake... and I don't normally eat fish), good service and good atmosphere/music. Price was reasonable, especially given city centre location. First time to Belfast so not best placed to compare to local competition, but would happily recommend.

I was at Salt yesterday for a work Christmas lunch and I would highly recommend it. This was my 3rd year in a row going there. Absolutely fantastic. Lovely food, great service. All 40 of us raved about it. Looking forward to going back there again next year. And you are only a 2 minute walk from all the bars in the Cathedral Quarter. Give it a try!

Lovely restaurant, had the beef rib burger, very tasty. Normally I don't like skinny fries, prefer proper chips, but I really enjoyed theirs. Staff friendly and helpful, with nice atmosphere and great tunes(van the man 👍). Burger +bottle of Hienikin £7•95 with Groupon deal, quite a saving.

Visited at half-past-eight on a Tuesday night and got told that they were packing up the kitchen soon so get there early. I had the pigeon brest starter which was excellent although I think there was a pinch too many nuts and not quite enough of the beautifully cooked red garage. The chargrilled chicken was good. The chicken was well cooked, the mash the right consistency and the jus was beautifully thick. I don't think the asparagus added anything to the dish and a substitute vegetable may improve the dish overall. The turnips were great. As a place called "Salt" one would expect that the danger would be over or under salting the food and unfortunately the carrots were particularly over-salted which is quite an achievement considering my predilection for salty food. For desert I highly recommend the lemon tart. Beautifully presented with some raspberry hearts, a mango sorbet and a sliver of chocolate. In my opinion the sorbet didn't complement the tart; replaced with a sweet heavier ice cream I think it would work better. The service was very good. Polite and with prompt table service whenever the table needed to be cleared or I needed anything. Overall the food was good and the price reasonable for what I got. The ambience felt as though it couldn't decide what it wanted to be. With the menus scrappy bits of paper on ugly clipboards, the large old fashioned type metal candlesticks with the more modern touches around the restaurant felt a bit confused. I believe if they moved either towards more traditional decoration or more modern decoration the feel of the place would improve.
