Amazing is all I can say!! It is a delightful small restaurant with charm, atmosphere and terrific food! My husband and I ordered different meals, so we could share and try two options. My husband had the Beef boxy and I had the Bacon Chop (longer name) and they were both outstanding! To end this glorious meal we split the Sticky Guinness Pudding with honeycomb ice cream to die for!! We wish we were in town another day so we could go back tomorrow night!

Good food and nice atmosphere. We were recommended this place from the place we were staying in Belfast, and the reviews on Yelp looked very good. It was good but not great. We had the seafood boxty and the duck breast. Overall, good and reasonably priced. Would recommend making reservations.

Simply loved this place. So much attention from the servers ans owner. Excellent recommendations on food and drinks. As an American first time in Ireland, was looking for somewhere with authentic recipes and found it here. Amazing taste. We had the "Boxty" dish, one seafood and one steak. Both were amazing! Never had seafood in a crepe before, but it tasted fantastic! I left regretting it was my last night in Belfast. Can't wait to return and eat here again!

Beautiful ambience, food, service and wine from Holohan's Pantry. I think this restaurant much better than sister restaurant Holohan's Barge. I do wish they offered a few more Vegetarian options, however our evening meal, on Thursday 25 August 2016, was so delicious I can't mark them down for this. Our waiter also told us Holohan's are considering adding more veggie dishes due to customer demand, so maybe in future these will appear. Both my dining companion and I ordered Vegetarian Mushroom 'Boxty of the Day' which was a Boxty pancake filled with mushrooms in cream sauce, served with fresh salad and coleslaw (on offer at £10). Sides of Market Veg, Hand Cut Chips, an Irish Cheese Platter dessert with relish/ crackers plus some really good Pinot Grigio and Merlot completed our meal. The food was fabulous and extremely flavoursome. During the evening a musician entertained by singing and playing guitar, thus the mood was mellow and leisurely. I will return, unfortunately not frequently just simply due to the limited Vegetarian dishes available. Nonetheless, Holohan's Pantry prove Irish food can outstrip any other cuisine in terms of quality and taste. Would highly, highly recommend, but please Holohan's, just add a few more options for us Vegetarians... :-)

Just a fantastic dinner. The kitchen produces high quality family Irish recipes. The staff budgets two hours for your table, so relax and enjoy the best of Belfast. The pork belly was fantastic. To avoid being disappointed, make reservations for the weekends.

The best in the town! We didn't book but luckily got a table near the window. We order mussels, pork&beer duo and seafood boxty. All of them are delicious, you can feel that every dish is carefully prepared and well cooked. Must go if you visit Belfast.

Lunch date today and since it's only around the corner, we decided to go to Holohan's Pantry. Sister restaurant to Holohan's @ The Barge, recently opened a few months ago hoping to compete with other restaurants in the Botanic & QUB area. Very friendly welcome on arrival from an enthusiastic host, sat down in the rear area of the restaurant where it can get a bit dark, but there were plenty of seats in the lighter parts. Quick service (admittedly there weren't many others in) and a very relaxed atmosphere. Decided to go for the Confit Chicken & Bacon Boxty, definitely a great choice. Deliciously light and crispy potato pancake, absolutely stuffed full of chicken and bacon well coated in a very moreish sauce, with a side of chunky chips (they were pretty damn chunky). Other half went with a very light Salmon and Goats Cheese which looked great and apparently tasted great too. Set Buttermilk dessert was ordered and arrived looking very impressive with a walnut chutney and some shortbread. Extremely wobbly, hilariously so. Would have wobbled off the plate and out the door if you blew on it in the right direction. Host/waiter was nice and friendly throughout, give us a nice wee farewell on leaving. 5 Boxty's out of 5. Would wobble again.

As an international student I took the time out of my weeks to eat my way through Belfast. Holohans was my absolute favorite little restaurant. My server, Calvin, was extremely knowledgeable about all of the food and wine, and made the whole experience fantastic. The wine selection is superb and the food was even better. The steak and Guinness boxty is a must-have, the bacon chop was delicious, all the appetizers were incredible and the Guinness pudding for dessert was to die for. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Went in for a Sunday lunch. Pleasant ambiance. Friendly but slow service, they needed more feet in the floor. The food was excellent. I had the Walter Ewing smoked salmon crabachain and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Would definitely eat there again.

My favorite restaurant so far during my UK/Ireland trip and that includes some posh places in London. The ambiance, service, and food were all fantastic. If you are in Belfast make sure to make a stop here!

Consistently excellent food and service. The food is simple, but fresh and delicious. With a similar vibe to The Barge, it's pretty casual and 'homely' whilst still having the same subtly sophisticated atmosphere. It's fully licensed and the staff are great for recommending a particular drink for your meal. The menu offers a good selection of starters, mains and desserts, though I would recommend trying the house boxty, which is integrated with some of the mains and specials. Not overly expensive, and definitely value for money in relation to the quality of food and service you get.

My second visit to Holohan's and I was not disappointed. We had lunch this time and got the boxty...delicious! So simple but yet the ingredients were perfect. We went on a Saturday and it was buy one lunch get the second half price! Good deal and I assume it runs throughout the week . Staff are so friendly and informative. Nice space and bright. If you want something a bit more private then ask for the snug at the front - fits up to 4 people . Lovely restaurant and will definitely make it a regular!

Visiting from out of town and tried the boxty's. The atmosphere alone was welcoming and very relaxing. The Guinness bread is a must try, and nobody was disappointed with their meals. The baileys creme brûlée was delicious! The service was phenomenal and all the servers were helpful and answered any questions you could possibly have. Would definitely recommend a reservation at dinner time and would go back if we had more time here.

We came here for our first meal in Belfast after reading about it on a "places to eat in Belfast" article, and then having our taxi driver and several other locals rave about it. I had the Steak and Guinness Boxty and was blown away. Friendly staff and really comfortable atmosphere sealed the deal. I will definitely be coming here again on my next trip to Belfast!

Eclectic little place to eat. The croquettes were fab. The seafood pancake was good. Parmesan chips were well flavoured. The dessert was very sweet, but clearly made with attention to detail.

Genuinely, I have never been so upset when a meal has come to an end. Unbelievably delicious. Had there of been no other diners I would've picked up each plate and licked them clean, disgusting and uncouth I know, but I need to express how tasty these dishes were. I had the goats cheese to start, a chicken boxty for main and plum tarte for dessert. STUNNING. The pudding is what I believe fire works night would taste like if it had a taste. My husband had, the soup of the day, seafood boxty for main and a Guinness chocolate dessert. Consider us a very content and well fed couple

Great little place, very welcoming and fitted us in without a booking. Husband and wife team worked the room admirably. A small menu that is well picked out comprising a few options from every kind of dish you might like. Locally sourced and traditional options. At the end we were left to chat and finish our drinks and ultimately had to get up and ask to settle the bill, no problem but if you’re keen to get off after eating probably best not to wait for the bill.

A charming little restaurant. There are hits and misses but it’s worth a visit for some local food. (Seen on VisitBelfast Chargrilled veggies are tasty but a bit oily. The blue cheese is soft and flavorful, not too sharp or salty. Mixed veggie side makes me feel healthy. The steamed carrot is well cooked and naturally sweet. Sea bass is juicy with lovely crispy skin. Lamb rump is tender. Seafood boxty is interesting, although the cream filling is quite heavy for me. A little note: The cooking temperature/time on the griddle seems to be quite unstable. The boxty and the potato terrine are both a little burnt. Service is friendly. We also enjoyed a few minutes of beautiful live music. It would be helpful to have some background music after the performance ends..

I ordered the Holahan's pan boxly with seafood, the fish was salmon and cod with cream and dill, it was divine. . . the crepe that wrapped the filling was delicious, it was melt in a mouth and the whole dish was fresh, At the moment Holohan's is my favorite restaurant in Belfast. I will come back and try another specialty...😋

Our party of four had an amazing meal and dining experience at Holohans Pantry last Sunday. We had booked to celebrate a birthday while staying in Belfast and from the moment we arrived we felt welcome, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Holohans team. Thomas was brilliant and recommended a delicious Chardonnay, the bread board with oils and butter to share (the Guinness bread and Mustard bread were divine) along with Goats cheese fritters. Delicious! For main course we all chose the famous Pan Boxty. Both the seafood boxty and the chicken and mushroom boxty were a taste sensation and we keep talking about it. We couldn't resist adding sides of Champ and Truffle & Parmesan chips to share as an accompaniment! Irish coffees to complete the meal were perfect. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Belfast! Thank you Team Holohans for such a wonderful meal. Highly recommend to all.

This place was absolutely spot on in every way. The main man got me seated (I hadn't booked) and gave me a nice table all to myself. He was absolutely awesome as was his assistant. I was on my own, in trakkie bottoms but this wasn't an issue. I had the amazing pan fried boxty with asparagus tips and it was one of the best meals I've ever had! Seriously! Atmosphere, service and food were top drawer. Thanks for being amazing!
