First time down at the Boathouse!
Greeted by a lovely host who turned out to be the Owner!
Very friendly staff who are always around to help, followed by a quick turn around in food being prepared. When the food did reach our cutlery, it was a classic taste of a home cooked all day breakfast, couldn’t ask for more!
The cafe is filled with memorabilia, books, local information and lots of causes being done for charity!
The cafe lays on the edge of the river, looking over into the surrounding countryside and surrounding wildlife!
Will definitely be back again soon on a warm summers afternoon!
Thanks x
Pre-booked afternoon tea:
Upon arrival the cakes and sandwiches were set out on the table ready along with glasses and tea cups.
The owner greeted us and was very friendly and busy.
A lovely lady saw to us and made sure our pot of tea was brought straight out along with orange juice and water with orange slices in it.
There were 4 different flavours on the 🥪 of meat, egg and tuna (we'll eat anything)
We were looked after, and the lovely lady that saw to us even brought out some extra macarons for my toddler who was tucking onto one and the fresh strawberries.
The cream tea itself was beautifully presented. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a welcoming atmosphere with a clear regular couple popping in as well.
I would definitely recommend the place for value for money and a friendly relaxed feel where you aren't being rushed out.
Although the weather was grim, there was a good flow of people ordering all sorts and we were 1 of 3 of the afternoon teas for the day so that speaks for itself!!
Full credit to the owner - Tony - delightful sense of humour to and with his customers, we were in fits of laughter.
Prices are really good value for money.
Food was great.
Coming up from ‘The South’ and will be visiting again.
Beeston born and bred, but never been to this fabulous super friendly and family feel cafe. Budget is good for someone with a small income and the prices are fair but the food is on point, and I have to admit I wanted to pay for two breakfasts just for myself. Freshly cooked and toast was amazing, not hard or cold but warm, soft and exquisite. Have to admit the owner Tony is warm, professional and above & beyond. Customer Service second to none and I hate to say this I cannot find a fault with anything except I want more menu choice - BIGGER BREAKFAST PLEASE.
Hadn't visited the Boathouse Cafe for a while, I know now what I was missing. A fabulous traditional riverside Cafe with great food at a reason price. They have a wonderful memory wall for customers who are no longer with us. Tony the owner is a wonderful traditional British character, friendly, helpful pleasant and very professional.
We were travelling and spent the night near Kegworth. We searched for open cafes early in the morning and drove over 40 minutes, in the wrong direction for our journey, to find the most welcoming, interesting and friendly host Tony and his staff. Definitely one of the best breakfasts we have had and we’ve had a lot on our travels!
Top rated food and a first class service.
Well done and thank you!
Portsmouth and Brazil 😀
First visit yesterday. We had Hotdogs and fries.
The gentleman that served us was extremely friendly. Ridiculously good price too. Would highly recommend.
I visited the Boathouse Cafe at a weekend for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The prices are good, and a shoutout to the owner who makes you feel extremely welcome and makes an active effort to talk to customers.
Will definitely be visiting again!
An absolute gem. Tony does an incredible job of providing exceptionally friendly service along with great food. Reasonably priced and amazing views of the marina. Would definitely recommend the full English
Great cafe, really friendly staff and brilliant food. Lovely atmosphere. They also have lots of different tea options 😊
We are regulars at Tony's cafe now, been coming a while. Love a nice cold drink and sometimes a sneaky piece of cake after our walks. Always met with a friendly smile and chat from Tony and staff.
As great as ever and enjoyed catching up on old times with two great Rylanders.
Friendly staff and a lovely cup of coffee. 🙂
Really nice little cafe hidden away near the Beeston Canal and River Trent, fabulous "home cooked" food, great menu and very reasonable prices. Indoor and outdoor seating and lovely views over the waterway and locks
Great location for the riverside. Good grub, pleasant staff
