This is my favourite coffee shop in Beeston. Lovely area to sit out, great coffee served by the nicest of baristas.
But why does the staff change so rapidly? I've lost count of the number of baristas The Bean has lost.
Good staff are hard to find: invest in staff and they stay!!
‘As a coffee enthusiast’... I love it here. The staff are enthusiastic with a gentle spin- none of that loud, hip braggadocio so beloved of other, more forthright emporia. You’re not asked for your name, they know which coffee you have ordered and it is served at the perfect temperature- no scalded tongues here. The students go upstairs and the seating area outside is lovely on the two days a year Nottingham is sunny. I just wish it was a smoke free zone outside. They also have a ‘pay it forward’ coffee scheme that adds a warm glow to your day.
Love to sit under the awning outside The Bean. The coffee is superb and I was even offered oat milk when I asked if they serve soya milk. That was a bonus ! The staff are always pleasant and professional .

Fantastic place... Good snacks and very smooth coffee... Staff very friendly and efficient...
Visiting from overseas and Just nipped in for a small Americano. It was way better than anything you get at the big chains. Not been in for many years but great to see this place still serving top quality coffee
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good selection of drinks and snacks. What more do you want?
Got lots of work done on a Sunday afternoon in the Bean. Good coffee, chilled music, fast wi-fi and great friendly service from Roman. Seriously, if you have a team you need to train in customer service, don't send them on a course. Just take them for a coffee at the Bean!
The chocolate ganache brownie is amazeballs... And the coffee is top notch. Can't fault it.
Live in Loughborough, pop into Beeston for shopping and change of scenery once a month, ALWAYS Finnish the day with a good cuppa and a naughty cake before the mad dash home to get the kids from school.
It's so relaxing here, I absolutely love it.
What a shame to see all the windows have been smashed!
Nice to see your still open for business despite this awful act of vandalism!!!!!!
I hope you've got who ever is responsible!!!!!
Well I spend good with friends and staff at this place over last 12 years and I feel so welcomed by the staff. You can sit back and relax here in comfort with the smell of there special roast Mmmmm I think I be off for large vanilla latte thanks guys.
Love It here.... The cakes are irresistible if you having a coffee....but I'm naughty!
By far the best coffee & cake EVER!!
Great coffee and food. Friendly staff and quick service. Nice atmosphere and decoration. Always busy but never had any major issues getting a table when we wanted one, seems to be plenty of seats inside and out.
Had cappuccino and apple cake which was ordered and paid for at the counter before sitting down. The cake was large, tasty and cheap compared to other cafes in the area. The cafe also serves panini looking sandwiches with what looks like potato wedges. They looked good. There is seating upstairs too.
Found this gem whilst making my way up to Lake District and was a great place for food and drinks.
Let's start off with service. Fast and friendly staff with great vegan options. Many seats downstairs, upstairs and outside.
Atmosphere and decor was great. Very contemporary and hipster.
Food was delicious! Me and my missus had the daily special, plant based breakfast and mushroom toast.
They even had vegan sweet treats including cake slice, flapjack and so on.
Defo recommend if you're in the area!
One of my favourite coffee spots in my neighbourhood. Great coffee and good food are fairly priced. The staff are friendly, and dogs are welcome (downstairs).
Lovely food (had bacon on rosemary foccacia with roast cubed potatoes, plus coffee) and sat upstairs with my laptop. Free wifi and accessible plug sockets (see photo). In the heart of Beeston shopping street. Would visit again.
Wonderful ambience; great tea and food. Simple yet powerful decor.
Toilets are exceptionally clean and tidy.
3 hour free parking at Sainsburys for a short walk down.
Will come again !
Excellent and always reliable coffee! Great brunch spot 👌
Outstanding everything. Service (mainly youngsters being exceptionally professional and kind whilst very busy), coffee (£2.90) and food. I had the chorizo hash (£11.50) which was delicious. But equally, everything else that went by looked equally good!
I was recommended to visit, so am glad I did. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good table size to work. Clean and tidy. When I return to Nottingham, I’ll be sure to revisit. Meanwhile, will be recommending to my clients, whom I have just secured a home in Beeston from overseas.
Very tasty, cozy, a very nice start to the day!
The pancake is so good, must to visit again!
Good coffee is definitely served here! Great place to do a little bit of work while having some food/ coffee.
I’v been staying in Beeston for about a week with a family that doesn’t drink coffee so every morning Iv walked here for my hit. I love this place. The staff are lovely, the coffee beans are experimental (so order carefully) but I loved every one I tried. I live in London so I’m used to pretty good coffee shops but this is the first time iv felt compelled to leave a review. I recommend any coffee fan to try the different pour-overs and soak up the vibes in this place if you find yourself in Beeston.
As for the few negative reviews on here: the wait is relatively long. It’s not Pret or Starbucks times but that’s because it’s not attempting to provide the same service. The coffee here is the main event and the process is beautiful, a little long, but worth the wait. the staff arnt forgetting about your order if you watch them they are just making sure each product is top quality. Also the claim that the coffee is ‘weak’ or too bitter is also nonsense. They seem to stick to light to medium roasts so the taste isn’t overpowering but that doesn’t mean it’s weak. These are proper coffees that left me with that alert and relaxed feeling quality coffee gives. That being said, think before you order. If one of the pour overs is fermented with white wine but you just want a normal coffee then look at the other options. If you like your coffee strong and it’s a light roast you get an espresso. I’m convinced the few people complaining about the coffee wanted to go to pret and were disappointed with a better experience.

Loved the food and portions are huge!!
Fab independent coffee shop miles better than the chains
I love this place. Relaxing environment and the staff are always really welcoming. The food is fantastic, I went for the Sausage Focaccia which is one of those meals you don't want to end. The selection of cakes and pastries is divine especially the Hazelnut Brownie. Tea is provided in elegant and unique pots and cups. All in all a lovely place. Can highly recommend.
Great food (loads of gluten free options) and coffee, served by very friendly staff and on a warm sunny day the outside seating almost feels like being on the continent
Food is amazing, would recommend any of the baked items or the foaccica. Coffee is also great. Nice chilled vibe and dog friendly.
