At the beginning we were a bit confused as the name these days seem to be the Nazar Lounge, at least that is what it says outside. Inside the menu still says The Skewer Lounge. Delicious Turkish food, quite decent portions, options for vegetarians and good service. We had a great evening!
My wife, Donna, and I found The Skewer by chance and we are ready glad we did. We were treated with a friendly smile, given a great table and served with politeness and fun. The food was fantastic, beautifully cooked and presented. The restaurant is classy and comfortable. The prices are what you would expect for great food and drink. We even had a brilliant conversation about our favourite Rock bands.
Thoroughly recommend this great restaurant.

Lovely refurbished establishment from before. Interior is very posh and luxe. Only thing was music was way too loud so having dinner with friends you really need to shout over the music.
Otherwise food was delicious, definitely recommend the mocktails! Service was good initially but as the place started filling up, our party of 3 were somehow neglected as had to ask 4 times to get a jug of water and order our desserts! Will probably go back but not too soon as still nursing the sore throat from shouting over the music.

Amazing Starter menu - HOT MEZE PLATTER - halloumi cheese,beef sausage, falafel,calamari and sigara boregi 🧆 🤩🤩🤩. The main courses were truely best - 1. SARAM CHICKEN BEYTI 2. MIX GRILL 3. ALI NAZIK CHICKEN 🍗4. ALI NAZIK LAMB🥩 The tenderest kebabs I've ever tasted. Will be back again soon.

Beautiful flavours! Great atmosphere with open kitchen and Great service overall. My only critic will be about the menu as I found it a bit difficult to understand but not really a problem. Will definitely go again. I have seen the chef's grilling a whole fish that looked yummy!
Amazing food as per.. service was great and attentive and friendly.. was last night of the 50% discount tonight and the place was full to capacity!! But staff were doing their best to deal with the busy night. Service took a little longer than usual but was to be expected.. a few more staff would have helped the workload but was excellent none the less.. the food was cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyed it.. will be one of my go to places in future.. thanks for a lovely eve.
Now known as Nazaar, it’s on the Bedford high street (not sure why it’s still called Skewer?!). Anyway… service, outstanding, food was insanely good!!!! I loved every bite of my meal and I know my friends loved theirs too. Was manic, and constantly busy, which was great to see. Highly recommend booking way in advance.
My family come here often, they can't get enough of this place and I see why! Usually get the fish dishes as they are so full of flavour, juices and just so we'll prepared! The staff are ways so hospitable and helpful which makes the whole experience so nice. In the picture is a chicken dish and wow was it beyond tasty. The thick, smooth yogurt with hot chicken, veg and a type of bread married together really well. I cannot fault the cooking, it's Turkish done right!
Good tasty food. I highly recommend the mussaka, aswell as this they had nice tableware. Although the service was very slow and the food Is a.bit too expensive... Especially the puddings (five pounds fifty pennies for a cherry ice cream).
I'm a frequent customer to this restaurant. The service is excellent. The cold and hot starters are delicious. The grills are perfect. The restaurant's ambiance is very nice. Few more things I think they should be offered to be given a full 5 stars review score. I think they should add the very famous turkish pastries on the menu like Lahmacun, Turkish pizzas (pide). In addition, i think they should offer more varieties for sides that come with the main dish (resticted to salad and rice), they should offer substitues like french fries or borgoul (red couscous)...
Anyways, I recommend this restaurant for Middle Eastern and Turkish food lovers.
Nazar Turkish Restaurant - I ate there twice during my short stay in Bedford!
The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Sac Kavurma (no 52 on the menu) being my favourite Turkish dish.
The staff were professional and friendly with excellent service and attention.

Our third time going back to Nazar and once again a superb meal - attentive, friendly service and great food. I had the Arnavut Cigeri (sauteed spiced lamb's liver with onion and parsley - gorgeous, richly flavoured and tender) and the charcoal barbecued lamb Ali Nazik with a creamy, cheesy dollop of yoghurt, smoked pepper and aubergine. Everything is suffused with charcoal smoke, beautifully balanced, spiced and seasoned. Even the bread and hummus is strikingly good. Will definitely be back!
Really amazing spot. Food was so on point, especially the lamb ribs and my babe had chicken bayti . I strongly recommend it. Pasher was really friendly as well. Nice and attentive staff members.
