Staying in Bedford for a few nights for work, I decided to walk into town for a takeaway. I came across this restaurant & called in. The gentlemen at reception was very polite & gave me a takeaway menu. I was impressed with the restaurant & decided to eat in. I ordered a starter & a curried steak for main. I was given some poppadoms & a selection of beautiful dips which I used with the starter & main as there was loads! The food was sensational, beautiful flavours!

Incredible! Delicious, authentic food and not your typical Indian - several interesting twists on the menu and a good range of fish dishes. I had the Lamb Momo and the Macher Jhol (spicy halibut with a lovely sauce and potatoes), with Sag Paneer (crisp, well seasoned and one of the best I’ve had) and mushroom rice.

Ordered a lamb naga and lamb Jalfrezi on Monday night. I asked for extra hot and spicy and the chef cooked these as requested which is fantastic. The food is absolutely amazing! The portions are very good and the flavours are out of this world. I highly recommend Blue Monk. This is my new go to for a guaranteed decent curry.
This place has it all. A cosy, modern, and zen feel about it. The beautiful lighting and chunky table candles, makes feel relaxed as soon as you enter door. There's a varied selection on the menu. The staff are attentive.

Came to this resturant by chance and I certainly didn't regret it... First thing I noticed was the great service. The food was fresh, excellently cooked and very tasty. I would highly recommend Blur Monk to anyone that appreciates a good curry.

This is the first time for me dining at the Blue Monk and what a great experience. Do not underestimate the special ambience of this authentic restaurant (and it is a restaurant as opposed to a regular curry house) from it's external appearance. The staff have a great balance of discretion combined with attentiveness. I'll make a special shout out to Marbz, who took the time to understand my tastes before making a recommendation. My meal was fresh, flavoursome and a genuine treat that I'm not going to forget for a while. If you have a passion for proper spice combinations, I highly recommend you come and give this gem a try.
Tried this place for the first time. The food was awesome, full of flavour. Good atmosphere and great service. Will definitely visit again.
