First time in this restaurant - passed it regularly for years - always saw people inside. Dinner type of service, a bit dated but clean, friendly atmosphere, polite staff, affordable food. Seemed like lots of regular goers. As it is on High street very convenient for breakfast or lunch.
Myself and my friend popped on here for lunch.
We sat down and a waitress named Ellie came to take our order and within 5 mins. She was polite and helpful.
I ordered a Lemonade and my friend had a cup of tea.
We then ordered two breakfasts. Hot, fresh and delicious.
A good sized plate of food well worth trying. Clean and tidy.
We left full and happy. Well worth popping in for either a lite snack or main meal. Waitresses and Chef/staff were very friendly.
Ordered breakfasts for two this morning and it arrived well before time. It was hot and delicious and the driver who delivered was very courteous and cheerful. Will definitely be ordering again

This place is truly a gem! Delicious food, warm staff, and a cozy atmosphere that makes it feel like home.
This place has been here as long as I can remember. And from what I can remember, it hasn't changed much if at all over the years, but that's a good thing.
They've got quite a big menu and an all day breakfast menu. The prices are reasonable too.
When we went it was quite busy but the service was still quick and we got our food nice and hot. The food was tasty and it was quick to pay as well, they accept contactless card payment which is a big plus for me.
Plain, simple, straightforward greasy spoon style cafe.. nothing fancy, just the place to go for a bite to eat when in town. Good value for money.

Very nice, certainly filled up after a big plate of food and we also had a naughty pudding and it's very reasonable priced. We shall come again 🙂

Been a regular for a long time now, Always served very promptly, The boss & his family make everyone welcome to Poppins & always happy to chat. The girls are always very polite when serving you. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Bedford.
Delicious freshly cooked breakfast in a friendly, traditional cafe restaurant. Had large breakfast and very nice cup of tea (nice tea a rarity these days). Great price so excellent value. Very nice and fully recommended.
The staff are very patient with customers, sometimes customers do not return the favour. The food has been amazing for decades, prices are amongst lowest in bedford. Plenty of seats, everything you need. And the breakfast? Omg, I would come here every day if I could.
Food was lovely definitely coming back, this place has a great family atmosphere and the staff are amazing.

Ok so this is still one of my favourite places to have English breakfast at. Their prices has gone up significantly since 2011 but it’s worth it.
