We had such a lovely meal for my mums birthday! The service and food was amazing - the steak was perfectly cooked and such good quality, we will definitely return again soon! The waiter Scott was very attentive to our table! Thank you for a lovely experience Flying Horse! x
Came in here for the 1st time on Tuesday to celebrate an early Birthday for my wife. We got in at 8:45pm and was told the kitchen was shutting soon. A member of staff when in to the kitchen to inform we was there and they was happy to wait for us to order with no rush, which is brilliant knowing they could of turned us away. The meal main and desert was fantastic. Me and my wife could not believe how great it was. Every bite was better then the last. We travelled from sandy and was well worth it. Did cost 100 pound for the meal which was alot for 2 people but a birthday treat and we really enjoyed.
amazing place to eat, food is excellent. we got bread and olives for starters, roast for main and meringues and a chocolate bomb for dessert. service was amazing and the food was delievered fast, highly recommend!
We have driven past this pub several times but never been in as thought it was a carvery pub. We went this weekend with the children and it was a lovely surprised. Well decorated inside, lovely staff and great food. We had father's day menu which had a good choice £29.95 a head. The kids had meal of £7.95 a main and £3.50 a pudding. The kids menu had a great choice where you could pick chips, potatoes or vegetables as side. On the children's menu they had curry, pizza, chicken, fish and more. Will visit again. Thank you
I don’t normally bother with reviews as I know what I am getting in most cases, wherever I choose to go. However on this occasion, I feel obliged to. Absolutely outstanding meal with family (Saturday evening service). The menu options were great, covering the wants of everyone in the group but better still, the food exceeded the expectations when ordering. I’m also a very firm believer of “you get what you pay for” but in this case, I would say you get fantastic value for money.
The service was also great, enough time between courses, not harassed in any way for too many drinks etc and the colleagues were genuinely great - it wasn’t robotic service in the slightest.
Finally, the atmosphere was spot on. It had a really good mix of guests, some in big groups having a decent time and others, quietly sat eating their meal. At no time did it feel like you had to be one or the other. (Topped off by the fact that it’s a very pretty place).
I would struggle to give it anything other than 5 stars for what is on offer and would highly recommend checking it out if you can! I can’t wait to come again.
Visited for the first time with friends and had a fantastic evening. The food was amazing and the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive and professional. I can highly recommend the "dirty burger"! Also a special mention to both Lana and Joel whose enthusiasm and good old fashioned customer service were second to none. We will definitely be going again.
Staff very friendly and attentive. We were asked about allergens and I am sensitive to gluten but not allergic so I asked about gluten free menu. When we were seated I decided to take roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding but the waitress checked that was ok for me and that I did not need to have gluten free. Service and food was excellent.
I visited with 3 colleagues for a meeting over coffee. The pub was very busy but the staff went out of their way as always to find us a quiet area. They could not have been more accommodating. We have our little meetings once a month and have decided that next time we will come for lunch. Such a lovely little pub with a great atmosphere and fabulous staff
Lovely place for a meal, a pleasant ambient atmosphere, staff very polite & presentable.

I was pleasantly surprised I was actually looking for a quick Sunday carvery at a dog friendly local after a stroll over Barton Hills with the pooch. I wasn't really expecting much, so I was pleased I got more than expected. I guess i have never heard of his place or it being somewhere known to me for a meal or even an option to try. It didn't have any meat left as by the time I arrived it was getting on, so this was the same everywhere later on in the day on a Sunday when a lot of places finish food earlier. The food was well presented and tasted great. The effort had been applied to the presentation of the dish, and it was perfectly cooked.
The pub itself was nicely decorated and had plenty of parking and an outside area, which I didn't go out to. The toilets were clean, and the bar staff were friendly and helpful.
I would actually recommend this place, I think, as I enjoyed the meal and will return earlier next time and try a Sunday roast, maybe. I wouldn't say it was budget friendly as the desserts were slightly above average, but it was worth paying if you get a little extra in taste and presentation, so it's not a complaint, just something I wouldn't probably do if I bought 4 children along as I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate it possibly and would quickly become a pricey option if 5 desserts were ordered from a family trying to budget wisely . I would imagine it's a better place, maybe for occasions like mothers Day or for a couple or a sibling lunch date. I wouldn't say my daughter wouldn't enjoy the food, but I only have one, but if you don't mind paying for what you get and are able to, then go for it . Dog friendly, too !
