Whilst having a random ride on my motorcycle I saw Miller & Carter as I was riding past, so swung back round and parked up behind it. The staff were very accommodating and needing a table for 1 I was seated straight away even though it was quite busy. Being a Chef myself and in the trade for around 16 years I can be very critical on food when I eat out, but cannot complain whatsoever as my food was spot on! Had the grain fed ribeye steak and lobster mac n cheese and the steak was cooked to perfection! Nice charcoal texture on the outside and soft, juicy and succulent on the inside! My meal came out hot and I only waited roughly 20mins. My experience with numerous restaurants and this one is that it gives the feel of middle class gourmet dining and the prices do reflect that. This is by far not an expensive restaurant for the quality and type/style of food that they serve and am very surprised of the amount of reviews stating that the food is overpriced, it is gourmet dining and maybe these people don’t understand what the concept of good food means and the cost of premium food. If you want cheap food - shop in Iceland otherwise if you want decent top notch food with a friendly atmosphere at a reasonable price then I highly recommend eating at this establishment!
Went for a meal last night for 2 of us and can’t recommend this place enough!
As we walked in we got served immediately by our lovely waiter Francois and was seated to our table. Such a great atmosphere and a beautifully decorated place. The cocktails were a must have and the food was to die for!
There was one minor mix up with mine and my other half’s steak as we had each other’s that we had ordered but it didn’t phase me because it still tasted amazing!
Shall definitely be visiting again!
Great place for a meal out.Second time we have been now great service from the start to the finish and the food was great so recommend it thumbs up !!
Fab meal here today. 6 steaks all cooked perfectly to our request. Fantastic service from a very attentive waiter and all round wonderful meal. Set menu was brilliant value.
I loved it! Went there on Father’s Day on the off chance of getting a table. But no room at the inn! Left dissapointed but surprised when I was chased down the road inviting me and my daughter back as they have had a reorganisation and found room. I joked that I’d been chased out of restaurants, but that never been chased back in to one. So bloody well done. We both had ribs and they were epic. It’s now a favourite of mine
The wife and myself just visited your Bedford restaurant for our anniversary dinner, I couldn't fault the place.
The food was amazing... it's nice to finally find a place in Bedford that knows how to cook a steak correctly (and I could have drank a pint of that beef dripping sauce on it's own it was so good).
Staff were super attentive and really friendly too.
I look forward to our next visit.
Went last night and the food was amazing. The staff were extremely helpful, Arthur was our waiter and he was brilliant, very funny and knew his steaks. I would highly recommend 😄

I have been to Miller and Carter Bedford a few times since it's opened, but after today's visit I felt it's time I wrote a review.
Every time we visit, the food and service always exceed expectations. The staff are always attentive, professional, friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is always beautifully presented and is by far the best steak I have ever had. It's definitely our favourite place to eat and we look forward to our next of many visits. Best thing to happen to Bedford in a long time!
Great place and excellent service by Arthur. The gin cocktail recommended by the young lady behind the bar was wonderful, food fantastic would definitely recommend and looking forward to going again
We had a fabulous lunch today ordering from the very reasonably priced Lunch menu as well as from the main menu.
Friendly and professional service (Pavvy), good selection of wine and gorgeous food.

Great location, parking is close in the multi-storey or electric cars only right next door. The service was slow at first, but as soon as Amanda took our order, she was amazing. She was thoughtful and attentive, and her knowledge of the menu was outstanding. Great attention to detail. The food was brilliant, completely flawless, and the drinks, cocktails, and beer were well made and chilled. The only issue, if it is one, is that some customers were dressed down, and for a place like this, you'd expect a little more of an effort from your punters. However, the service, food, and everything else completely outshone any issue.

My wife and I had our anniversary here earlier in the month. It was simple to book a table using the website. However, just make sure once you select a time that the date hasn't reverted back to today.
The service was excellent, and our shared starter was bread with olive pieces inside with dipping oil side, very delicious.
We both had different steaks, and instead of vegetables like peas, instead you are served with a portion of a lettuce chunk with your choice of side on it, mine was bacon bits with sauce and I belive my wife had cheese on hers (difficult to remember as it was a few weeks ago).
The food itself was absolutely succulent, some of the best steak that we have ever tasted, they specialise in steaks and it definitely shows.
Price range depends on how many courses you have and what you have as your main, but we spent roughly £30 per person, which included a shared starter, three drinks between us, and two main courses. Whilst the price is somewhat higher than other local restaurants, the taste of the food alone is worth the price.
Having never been here before because of the price, we decided to go during lunch time to take advantage of their two courses for £14 offer. At lunch time the restaurant was mostly empty, we received great service and the food came out promptly.
The steak & burger were both cooked really well and tasted delicious. The chips were quite disappointing, lacking flavour. The mayonnaise that they serve is also some kind of off-brand and doesn’t compliment the food well.
The ice cream desert was simply three scoops of ice cream and half a cookie snapped into a glass. The apple pie was vegan and served with custard. Both of these dishes were very simple, but tasty and enjoyable.
Overall it’s a pleasant place to eat that serves good food, the steak in particular is very good, as it should be for a steak house. It loses a star due to the disappointing chips and also the interior feeling as if it needs a refurb.
Very nice place with exceptional service (thank you Amanda, you have been above and beyond; that personal touch was lovely). We enjoyed our food however I'd say I'd love to have it pipping hot. Saying that our wishes have been fulfilled. We wanted not too much salt and all sauces we prefer to be served separately. I've had a lamb rack and my companion a burger. Very tasty. We also had Miller & Carter house red wine. Very light and pleasant to drink. I was also pleasantly surprised they have a fish on their menu. We will come back.
The dish we had was fabulous & the server was polite & efficient.
Ambience was nice. Quality of steak was amazing very little gristle, cooked as ordered - so soft. The ‘steak experience’ dish was well worth the money paid. Great service which added to our special occasion on a Monday night!

Had an amazing evening at miller and carter.Amanda was a great waitress who gave us great service.The food was all very tasty and good value.
Came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary. From entering, we were greeted by warm and welcoming. In the end, the staff member brought over a treat for us with a "happy anniversary."
The food was delicious, and the steakswas cooked as we wanted, portions was of a good size.
Definitely, I'll come another time.

It was pleasant, not too busy. Staff were attentive and we had a nice booth table.

My husband and I went with our 2 daughters for an anniversary dinner. The service was amazing, the staff were all lovely, from greeting us to seating us. We were served by Elise, who was very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The food came out in a good amount of time considering how busy the restaurant was and it was cooked beautifully. At the end of our meal, we were presented with an anniversary dessert plate, which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. All in all, it was a great evening out and we will definitely be coming back.
Our server, Elise, was the perfect host. She was efficient and friendly. She took time to speak to us and ask about our day, even though the restaurant was busy. She made us feel like she was genuinely interested in what we had to say and was able to offer suggestions around our choices of steak. The food was great but we will remember our service most of all. At the end of the meal, when she brought the bill, there was a little hand-written note thanking us and wishing us a wonderful night. The food at miller and carter is always tasty and cooked just the way we like it.
Amanda was our host for the evening and she was lovely in welcoming me and my partner in and taking us to our seats. (It wasn’t our first time dining here) She was very kind and polite to us both and assisted me in choosing my steak as my original choice wasn’t what I really wanted. The food and drinks service was amazing and Amanda made sure to come over every so often to check on us and make sure everything was good; which it was. Thank you Amanda and Miller and Carter for a wonderful evening. We will definitely be back many more times.
Our anniversary meal at Miller & Carter was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the ambience was perfect.
The star of the show at Miller & Carter is, of course, the steaks. The steaks were cooked to perfection and had an incredible depth of flavour, making every bite a delightful experience. Each bite is a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs.
What truly sets Miller & Carter apart is the exceptional service. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your dining experience is impeccable.
Highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic meal with excellent service. They even went the extra mile on our anniversary very polite staff and great range of food on the menu.
Well placed interior created perfect atmosphere for dining. Great service made me not forgotten. The starter squid was tasty. The main beef sandwich was nice, though it lacked in impact I expected. IMHO 9/10
My medical condition doesn't really cause much issues when I'm with my companions, (this is a welcome break for me) so I won't be rating that aspect here.
Had an amazing evening for my birthday with my partner. I could not fault the food and service provided. Amanda was serving our table and she was a delight, very efficient and gave us our time to enjoy our food without interrupting unnecessarily.
Out server,Amanda went above and beyond to make us feel special during our visit. Nothing was too much trouble and her cheerful manner, along with the excellent food, helped to make the occasion really enjoyable. She even arranged a cookie on a plate with ‘happy birthday’ piped in chocolate and caramel!
My mum and I had a wonderful meal! Please pass on our thanks!
The food was as expected, the group was happy.
Service by the waitress amanda was on point, even apologised for staffing issue in the kitchen which is out of her control.
Atmosphere was good, was surprised due to proximity to the main road.
All in all a good experience 😊
Great food and location in Bedford. Service can be a little hit and miss in our experience though. Our most recent visit was over two hours for mains and desert, which included a thirty minute wait for our drinks order to be taken and getting to us.
Food has always been lovely - so still a big thumbs up if you don't mind a wait..
