A beautiful little pub serving the finest quality food. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our pipping hot dinner. We drove down from Newton Aycliffe especially for a treat.
The staff are wonderful the surroundings are superb and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Just a had a delicious beautifully cooked Sunday Lunch from the Roast Beef, Lamb, chicken and vegetarian option we all enjoyed our meals. The selection of desserts excellent the lemon posset a favourite. Good service, very pleasant and helpful staff well worth a visit�����
Popped in on the way home for a spot of lunch. Absolutely fantastic!! Lovely little place, super friendly & helpful staff and the food was perfect! Booked to go again in a week or so for our anniversary meal and we can't wait!
Fantastic food and service, great atmos. Great to see Freemasons is now offering a vegan menu. Great choice of delicious main course/starters... and Laura's raw chocalate, raspberry and meringue pudding is to die for!
An Absolutely lovely little gem. Looked on sat nav for places to eat and we chose this place. The quaint pub has a wonderful atmosphere,the lady that seemed to be providing service in all areas was lovely and efficient. The food is amazing and well prsented,the burgers were huge,best ever my son claimed. A bug bear of mine is toilets but these were spotless and fresh!
Always a pleasure to eat at the Freemasons...we are never organised enough to book or we call in unexpectedly and have always been made welcome and squeezed in...we love sitting in the bar area as it has a lovely atmosphere although the restaurant area is lovely too...the staff are delightful and the food is absolutely top notch...our last meal here was simply outstanding...you really couldn't ask for more!!

Came for opening night and it was amazing, highly recommend!! Arrived and the atmosphere was lovely, both log fires on, very clean and cosy. Great selection of drinks on bar.

Went to the Freemasons for the first time for an early dinner today. The staff were really welcoming and professional and the bar and restaurant area is full of character and the atmosphere is very relaxed and dogs are welcome in the bar area. My wife had Rarebit with Tomato Chutney for a starter and Mushroom Risotto for her Main Course. I had Croquille St Jacque to start and Ox Cheek Bougignon for my Main. It was all beautifully cooked and easily the best meal we've had in a pub for years - a different standard altogether from the other pubs we've visited in the surrounding area. The menu had plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options too and was easy to read and understand the information about allergens. All in all a fabulous meal in a lovely, characterful pub, with friendly, professional staff who made you feel welcome. Thanks to all at the Freemasons and hopefully see you soon x

Would 100% recommend The Freemasons Arms for food which is very good. I had the steak pie which was one of the best I have ever had. I followed this with the crumble which was again very very good. However can I mention Hannah who greated us with the warmest of welcomes and was very friendly during our visit. It goes a long way when you get 1st class service along with superb food. Will definitely return.
A complete gem of a gastropub only minutes away from junction 50 on the A1. Car parking available opposite the pub is a little limited but the premises are modern and tastes fully appointed. The service is personable, friendly and helps makes a fantastic ambience. The menu is interesting and varied, with good quality produce and beautiful presentation. Two wood burners just add to the effect. Excellent food - would strongly recommend.

Popped in for a pint on route out… extremely nice lady behind bar managed to squeeze me in for a light lunch as I had commented how nice the food looked and I wasn’t wrong it was lush
First proper family dinner in a restaurant for nearly a year and didn't disappoint, food was amazing, service was extremely friendly, everyone had a great night and we will be back.
