Lovely old country pub. As we came during the week we were able to park and get a table without needing a reservation. I understand that at weekends it’s very busy especially on Sundays as their Sunday Roasts are really popular so a reservation is a must. The food and service were excellent and prices were very reasonable. Please note that the pub is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid making the trip in vain.

We had a lovely meal here today. The food was tasty and the service was quick! It has a beautiful interior and I loved reading about the history of the pub! We will try Sunday lunch here next!

Went here for a family meal on a busy Saturday evening. There was a good mix of options on the menu when choosing what to eat and the staff were helpful with our specific dietary needs. We were served quickly and food arrived promptly. A really enjoyable meal and evening.

Popped in on a whim Sunday mid afternoon with some friends. We hadn't planned or booked anything, and asked if it was possible to get some food, it was. The waitress explained it was carvery, which was fine. After a short time she took us through to the Chef. The layout looked very nice, with a wide variety of vegetables, Gammon, Beef and Turkey plus Nut roast or Veg options too. The meat portion was great, and veg was lovely as well. We all really enjoyed the food, environment and service. Thoroughly recommend this place and well done to all the staff.. Ooh good selection of beers too! Cheers 🙏

Lovely pub, great location if you are exploring Avebury and the other nearby historic bits. Food was amazing, service great, dog friendly. My partner says "the best ham egg and chips I've ever had" I had the steak and ale pie, it was delicious. Thanks, we will deffo come back!

We called in here for a birthday dinner last night. We were given one of the side rooms which was lovely, almost like a private dining room. Service was wonderful throughout the evening, attentive and engaging. The menu was a bit limited, particularly starters but the food we had was excellent. I can particularly recommend the red velvet cheesecake! Lovely setting and great atmosphere, very impressed.

Stopped off here hungry and tired and so impressed with the level of service and quality of the food. Asked for half a sweet cider and a pint while we looked atbht menu. Lady came back with a recommendation on the cider (rhubarb, try it, it's delicious!) and when we order food, brough extra plates when we said we were sharing the two dishes. Food was really good, would definitely eat there again if in the area.

Really nice atmosphere, good choice of food. Pretty good prices for food and drinks, the raspberry cider was really nice. The burgers are quite good quality, im not sure if the pie was home made. Thanks for a lovely dinner

Had a nice lunch with some friends at Waggon & Horses. There are lots of burger options to choose from and we enjoyed all the ones we chose. The portion sizes were generous and so a main dish filled us up and fuelled us for our afternoon walk in the countryside. The place is dog friendly and has clearly marked vegetarian and vegan options. There is also a good selection of beers including local ales. We came on a Friday lunch time and it was busy! The tables right at the back of the outdoor area code do with a bit of a clean as nature is creeping into that corner with spider webs and a bit of dirt!
