Lovely quaint village. Pub was closed so no bed and hot breakfast. However a continental packed lunch style breakfast was given to us. Room was a bit dark and needed brighter decorations. Ask for an iron and ironing board which was brought to the room for us.didn’t see much of the owners as the pub
Beautiful food and drink. Staff were attentive and the place was lovely and clean. Can't wait to go back.
Pubs looks bigger than it is from front with clean relaxed enviroment. We enjoyed steak and chips as steak was cooked just right as i have it well done and my hubby has it medium rare. Also were reasonably priced deffinately reccommend .
First time visit following the refurb and The Royal Oak does not disappoint. Amazing date night with my husband. Fab atmosphere & incredible food. Really great variety of vegetarian food available too - I ordered a truly delicious Halloumi, Carrot and Courgette burger with all the trimmings. Really
Brilliant to see the village pub back in business! Its not the biggest venue in the world but what it lacks in space it makes up for with a warm welcome and a wide variety of drinks and local ale on offer! Really impressed with the food! Catered for our large all age group perfectly last night! 👌 😊
Excellent food in an excellent atmosphere. Really friendly staff and a good range of cask beers. They actually serve sweet potato chips which We find hard to find in most places. The homemade steak and ale pie is really good. The staff are friendly and helpful what more could you ask for?
Had a good night. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the beer is reasonably priced. Definitely stay again.
Very good vegan food, starters, mains and homemade deserts. We normally have a choice of 1 which invariably is a vegan burger so we were pleasantly surprised. The chef and waiter, who was vegan, were very helpful, so thank you, we will be recommending you.
Stayed here as it was near Scafell Pike. Good value for money and had everything you would need. Things I look for: tea and coffee in room? Yes. Good shower? Yes. Good toilet flush? Yes Good food? Yes. Bar staff on the right side of sarcastic? Yes. Good WiFi included? Yes. Dog on the roof? Yes! What
We had a fabulous family birthday meal at The Royal Oak, the food was fantastic and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly staff and we were well looked after. We found The Royal Oak very friendly and would recommend a visit ..... we were not disappointed, great good in a love

It's a very nice country pub serving well made tasty meals. Not aiming for a Michelin star, but I thought my food was great.
Lovely pub in the heart of the village very friendly atmosphere nice food, nice rooms in the guest house cheap beer which is a bonus, nice outdoor facilities and plenty to do in the area, I will be definitely returning, and would highly recommend.
