My partner and I were married here on 14th April 2017. We could not of dreamed of a better service, from start to finish the staff were incredible. Charlotte who although we had only had a few meetings with before the day was 100% engrossed in our celebrations. Nothing was too much trouble and we were even able to request a dessert for our meal that wasn't on their normal options yet was executed to perfection. Gorgeous building in an idyllic setting with an exceptional team of staff would highly recommend to anybody.

We had our wedding at the waveney house hotel on Saturday and it was absolutely amazing. Charlotte especially and all the staff made sure the day smoothly and it was simply magical. Charlotte was fantastic and has been all the way through from the moment we met her when we were planning 2 years ago!! The food was to die for, soo yummy!! And I loved how the chef went the extra mile for my dietary requirements. Stunning rooms and views!! Highly recommend having any event here!!

Only popped in for lunch on the last sunny day in October. This is the only place so far I have found Gambas PilPil on the menu, and it was surprisingly good. Prices were reasonable and staff brilliant. My wife suffered a small coughing fit and a member of the restaurant staff brought iced water to the table, without being asked. After lunch we sat outside with a drink watching the world go by or more correctly the river Waveney. We have recently moved to Beccles and will definitely visit again, soon........

I had king prawns for starts and sirloin for mains with a group of lovely ladies and my meal was fantastic, cooked to perfection. My only comments are, we had to wait for our peppercorn sauces I think they forgot these, I didn’t like the sachets sauces and they weren’t fully stocked and we were quite cold to the point my friend kept her coat on. Food and atmosphere was Christmassy and wonderful and to fair they were very very busy. I’m there AGAIN next week and very much looking forward to my meal

My daughter got married on Monday 30th May at St Benets Church and her reception was at the Waveney Hotel afterwards. Abby (the wedding coordinator) was absolutely superb. You could not wish for a better person to leave in charge of your daughters wedding arrangements. Everything, I mean everything was top notch. The food was so hot we had to blow on it before we could eat. I had some fancy fish cake affair and it was lovely...... I could go on forever.....but I won't. Suffice to say I would recommend Abby most highly. Bryony Seppings

Planning a wedding brings out the darkest side of any bride. Its stressful and hardwork....I on the other hand was very lucky to have Charlotte and The Waveny team to take this pressure off me during the wedding planning process. The team went above and beyond to make our day perfect, seamless and amazing.....including carrying some flower pedastals down from the church which until I had to return them today had no idea how heavy they actually were!! Had I of I never would of asked. The can do attitude Charlotte and The Waveny team have is what every bride and groom need. Even with me throwing spanners in the works, asking if I could change last minute the timings of the wedding high tea which was made to happen. Every worry/hiccup eased, even with my worries regarding rain as we were walking down from the church. To which Charlotte responded with "and if it does I will be running up to walk you down with an umbrella" My friends and family had a wondeful day and blown away by the beautifully decorated rooms, wonderful food and service. We were complimented on venue choice all evening! My list of thanks and compliments to Charlotte, Glen, headchef, kitchen staff, bar staff, waiting staff, housekeeping and even to the friendly night porter who also saved the day is endless. My big day was made very big by The Waveny and is without doubt Suffolks top wedding venue!! See you soon and again many many thanks Mr & Mrs MacTavish

Visited with family for Saturday evening meal.Table was ready on arrival although set for one, and there were three of us. We had to ask for cutlery. My drink order was incorrect, but the food was delicious. We all had three courses, onion basis, belly pork and fish. Mains were Thai curry ,chicken and salmon all well presented and very tasty. One sorbet and two crumbles for pudding again very tasty. Food I thoroughly recommend and would return.

We were the entertainment for a birthday party so we didn't have the pleasure of staying over the night, however the location of this hotel is just stunning quiet and peaceful. I would actually very much love to stay over t night if I would return someday . The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us. Great size function room too where we performed . Perfect for any occasion. Business or pleasure. It's a yes from me. I can only imagine the hotel rooms will be just as imacculate as is the rest of the hotel. Thank you for a pleasant experience for us northerners .

Not only are the rooms immaculate and the location lush, but the hotels biggest asset are its staff and the service they provide. I left a couple of items behind after my trip and the team without even questioning it posted them back to me. I Would certainly go out of my way to stay here again if near the area in future! Thank you again!

Our Room (5) was a lovely comfortable room. Had a side view of the river. The floors were sloping slightly towards the bathroom, but did not cause problems. The patio is a lovely spot on a sunny day.The staff were amazing - friendly and chatty, nothing too much trouble. Food was excellent. The location from the road could be better signposted (sign quite small). Perhaps a shower mat for the bath would be handy - bath surface very slippery.

A friend and I went here for an evening meal, before attending an event in the town Hall. As it was a lovely warm evening we chose to sit outside. The hotel is situated beside the river so lovely scenery to enjoy. Many others had the same idea as ourselves, and although busy the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. A good choice of food on the menu, prices compare well with other places where I've eaten. I had the salmon with crushed potato and wilted Lettuce and it was very tasty. It is easy to over cook salmon, (I have a tendency to do that myself!) but this was cooked to perfection. Dogs are allowed in the garden eating area and it was nice to see they had a water station with bowls for the use of dogs accompanying their human diners. This is an old building by the riverside, and because of its situation the paved garden is on a slight slope and a little uneven in places. I have some mobility problems, but didn't find walking through the outdoor dining area an issue, but care is needed. It all adds to the ambience, and attractiveness of the area. There is a small car park, which again is on a slope. However it's only a short walk from the town centre, so parking in town is another option. I would recommend a visit, and I hope to be back again soon.

Went for a lunchtime meal. Surroundings fantastic, view to die for, toilets exceptional. I thought my whole fish to be a bit small but very tasty. The rest of our party were bowled over. First class.
