Love it here as the staff are friendly and the meals are quite reasonably priced. We take our Grandchildren at least once a week but my Daughter pops in with them a few times a week
We always book a table for 12, 10x Care home residents & 2xStaff. The Manager and Staff are truly amazing, patient, helpful and very professional, we cannot fault them in anyway, the staff and residents really appreciate everything they do for us during the visit, they are so flexible and patient, when it comes to ordering as we have to do everything individually. They never complain or grumble, and the residents really look forward to and enjoy coming back each month. A sizzler pub, the same as The Swan. But more pleasant staff and the breakfast is cooked properly. You can swap what you don't like for more of what you do like with no extra cost. The coffee is self top-up every day.
Was quite full when we got there due to parties taking place. Staff where very friendly but the pub was so loud with very shouty girls/women trying to drown out everyone else. This obviously killed any atmosphere and lots of people where obviously annoyed at the racket they made. Ordered at the bar very quickly though, and when the food arrived it looked really nice, was piping hot and tasted great.
I'm not a killjoy and like people to enjoy themselves, but on this occasion, I do think the staff should have stepped in and asked them to quieten down a bit but understand what why they didn't.
We visited after prebooking a table online, food was lovely came pretty quickly and food tasted lovely. We had 2 surf and turfs and a rib and steak. We just don't like them coming on the hot skillerts (too hot) All cooked to our liking, kids food was a very generous portion, plus a pudding and drink in with the deal. High chair was slightly dirty had to wipe it clean but other than that the place was clean and tidy. Staff was helpful young girl was really professional who served us
i enjoyed my classic mixed grill but my guests had the fish and where disatisfied. the fish and batter tasted soggy and undercooked and tasteless. not up to the standard i normally expect of the acorn.
Food is good, decent portions and consistently good on the occasions we have been in. Staff are helpful and service is spot on.
Went hear for christmas dinner 2020 and we have a child with allergies all I can say is she love it the food was so nice and staff service was above and beyond very welcoming
Came here for breakfast last week and the staff where so polite and welcoming, and the food was spot on, thank you to the staff at the acorn for a wonderful experience
Everything about this pub is good,it's only down the road from my family so we always call in when we're in the area
Had a great time on a busy Christmas Eve. Table service was quick given the amount of people, and prices are as you'd expect.

Nice pub and good service. Parking is limited but off street parking available. Deliveries and takeaways available also. Need good access to car park.
Zoe, Amy, and Chris who are the best but overall the whole staff make the Acorn a home away from home, they deserve all the luck that the world can give!!!
Food usually lovely but at Xmas it was do busy so not up to usual standard understandably.

Another pub and catch up night. We choose here because it's convenient but overall it's a nice pub. Staff are friendly and as long as you don't go on quiz night it's a good place for a catch up. My only grip is the lack of draft beer. Only Doom Bar on which is sad as the green kings ice breaker IPA is lovely so would be great to see this added to the options
