The weather outside might have been wet and windy but inside the Ash Tree the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The food was top notch with ample portions. The beer and wines were also excellent. We will definitely be returning. Certainly highly recommended.

Love this place and and great Supper there last night with friends after a hearty dog walk near. Great meal and everyone happy and the added bonus is being away from the tourist trails amongst real locals!!

Wonderful food cooked by a very good chef. I believe his name is Ben Smith. Beautifully presented and very tasty.

Probably the best pub in East Sussex. We travel from Corfu at least twice a year and always eat at the ashtree. Service, wine and food is fantastic. If we could afford the house over the road, we would leave corfu tomorrow so that we could eat there every day.

Lovely traditional pub located really in the middle of nowhere. A long winding drive, but worth the trip. There was a relaxed and warm atmosphere which was nice considering how awful the weather was outside. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The portions were decent but the quality just felt a little off. The batter on the fish was a little over done. On the whole though, a nice experience. There is large car park located just opposite the pub. It also appeared to be dog friendly as a patron did come in with a dog.

Lovely pub in the middle of nowhere, with fantastic views. Not only was the food very tasty, but the portion sizes were like something from the good old days. I can't remember the last time I could barely move due to the satisfaction of a really decent pigout. Prices were also very reasonable.

Staff friendly and efficient - service excellent. I had roast lamb with all the trimmings, and mint sauce - the meal was just like a homemade meal. The Inn was quite crowded and everyone sounded very happy.

Had a wonderful family meal here. Food was excellent and not over priced. The staff were welcoming and always smiling, even on one of the hottest days of the year. Would definitely recommend The Ash Tree

A very friendly place with good food. We stayed over in our camping car in their car park and enjoyed the most wonderful views over woodland and countryside. A very special place.

Five hours down south and the food is worth. We were down visiting my family and we went to the Ash. You would have to know where you were going to get there and that would be your destination but it is so worth is the views are beautiful and the food is delicious. The service was good on food. Though my table was right next to the kitchen so we could hear all the friendly debates going on in there. Other than that great place would go again.
