Called here today, passing through from Manchester. This chippy is exceptionally good, how chippys in Manchester used to be. To be honest was so sick of tasteless Fish and Chips had given up. Was bit undecided going in, served by such a lovely, lovely, girl, dark hair, glasses. She was friendly, r
Really nice food, chips in dripping, they still do fish scratchings/bits. Quick and best chippy I’ve ever had
VIMTO So glad to have the most traditional 🐠 fish and chips 🍟 when stopped in #Betley for an hour today. A traditional restaurant and takeaway, traditional cooking and the portions. The ladies who cooked and served it where a match to the place so nice friendly ang generous with the portions. The fi
Used to go here nearly everyday when i went to Batley High school in the early 2000s. I tried this chippy the other day again after all these years and wow. Just how i remember it. I'm going to make the effort to visit this chippy on a regular basis. A fantastic Yorkshire chippy. Clean, friendly sta
I bloody love a good chippy. Cooked the way they should be in ‘beef dripping’ stumbled across Howies recently and I’m delighted I did. It’s what I would call an absolutely traditional authentic chippy. Outstanding fish with a crispy coating. Absolutely outstanding and I’ll be back again.
Bobbed in for a scollop butty, never been here before and was a bit peckish. It was delicious. A few days later we went for tea for fish and chips. They were lovely. Chips to perfection and batter nice and crisp. They weren't greasy either. Will be back.
A nice Yorkshire cafe experience.
Really fresh. Lovey staff. Nice price. Great portions! Thank you!!
Excellent fish and chips. They are cooked the traditional way in dripping. Lovely staff too 👍🏻
Was my grans go to place for fish and chips and usually they are really nice. Just don’t go 15 mins before their ‘close time’ otherwise you won’t get served, because they are ‘closed.’ Should put their close time 15 mins before they actually turn the lights off because they aren’t serving customers
