Great spot by the river, it was quiet when we stopped in but it is probably somewhere we'll return to as a bolt hole in the future. Calm and quiet views of the river, a space where you can read, plan walks of even catch upon work if you need to. A nice looking menu and a good range of drinks on offer means you have absolutely no reason to leave the grounds unless you want to take a boat trip or try some paddle boarding.
Lovely Riverside pub with cosy atmosphere. Nice outside seating with great views of the river and lots of tables. We sat in the beautiful conservatory. Menu a little limited ( hence 4 stars) but tasty food. Service was great. They don't check their answer phone messages ( so we were told by staff) so don't book by leaving a message like we did ! But plenty of tables so no problem. Right next to the tow path, flat well maintained railway cycle path to Bath and Bristol, camp site and the park and ride so super convenient. Will return.
Recently had a 2 nights stay & have to say a big thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome, our room was very tastefully decorated, with a lovely deep bath along with a shower which was a big bonus for us! A massive king size bed which was very comfy, tea & coffee facilities were also in the room, spotlessly clean, we had a delicious evening meal, breakfast was very enjoyable too with a good variety of cereal, croissants & pastries or cooked alternatives for those with a hearty appetite, fruit juices, tea & coffee also on offer. The beer garden offered a lovely place for a quiet drink whilst watching the sun set over the banks of the River Avon. We really enjoyed our stay & will definitely make a return visit. 😊
I cannot fault the service we received from all the staff at The Boathouse but especially Jack (Manager) who went above beyond prior to our arrival and across our entire stay!
Every detail was taken care of and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were beautiful, along with the river views and breakfast area! The food was also delicious!
Can’t wait to stay here again!
Lovely place to stay with picturesque views from the gardens. Room was very nice with facilities for hot drinks, comfy bed and hot shower. Even though you are staying in a pub, it was quiet in the evening and we were in no way bothered by any noise. The best aspect of The Boathouse are the staff, they are absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable and accommodating. You can really sense that they all enjoy their positions and that nothing is too much trouble for them. The Boathouse has good pub food which is fresh and served quickly, even in busier periods. The pub is next to the park and ride and the number 21 bus takes you into the city centre and runs every 15 minutes. Thank you to all the staff for your attentiveness during our stay.
Beautiful setting next to a river. Great outdoor space. We ordered duck leg, aged steak, and pork belly salad. Pricing was reasonable. Both the duck leg and pork belly salad were perfect. The steak was a bit overcooked and tough.
A really nice place to sit and gave a drink. We sat on the decking with views over the water. There were heated parasols to take away a bit of a chill from the autumn evening. Drinks reasonably priced and good selection. The place appeared to have been busy with Sunday roasts which looked lovely, although we didn't eat.
The bar and restaurant areas both looked cosy and welcoming. I was only in the area a couple days, and found this place on my last night. If I'm back in the area, I would definitely go back.
We were staying Bath Marina and Camping and visited the Boathouse pub for lunch 4 times with family and friends. Each time we had excellent food and service and the cost was about what you would expect for the area. Tried various choices from the menu and always very good. Also handy to be able to reserve a table online.
We were coming back home from Bristol to Poole and were looking for a place to eat, it was difficult to find something on a way. We were so lucky to see this place, it was all in lights and looked so romantic. We stopped and didn't regret. Nice view and nice food, plenty of seating inside and outside.
The rooms was very nice the evening meal was good ( Sunday roast ) staff were helpful and friendly. The only down side was breakfast next morning it was appallingly slow service . People who turned up after us were seen to and got there breakfast before us. We had to wait a good 30 mins to wait and when my partner complained about the wait it miraculously appeared. It had been sitting under heat lamps as cooked breakfast was dry. Apart from this glitch we had a good stay, don’t let this put you off may have been one of these days , over all lovely place to stay. Good park and ride next door for Bath £3.60 adult return .
Excellent little hotel on the River Avon. Room with balcony was very nice but lacked air conditioning especially on the hottest weekend this year so far. Staff were all brilliant, very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Nice restaurant, very busy but didn't impact quality of service. Perfect location with park and ride for trips into Bath.
We only came here for the restaurant and stayed at the marina in a nearby campsite, it was very good though and I strongly recommend.
We had the burger which was tasty, the highlight however and my main recommendation has to be the steak, I’m a big steak person so I normally go for 500g and above but this small portion was excellently prepared, the garlic butter and melt in your mouth mushroom made this.
I visited as part of a group of 10 people. A lovely venue, good food and a well shocked bar Service was efficient and friendly.
A lovely restaurant in a beautiful location riverside. Internal decor reflects river life and water sports.
I can thoroughly recommend visiting if you are in the area.
Nice pub/restaurant looking out over the River Avon and fields beyond. Several different seating areas in the pub, out on the decking or in the orangery offering different atmospheres. Very accommodating to my daughter's food intolerances. Unlimited Yorkshire puddings on the Sunday roast. Access from Avon tow path on foot.
Lovely location, friendly and helpful staff with good food. Only stopped by for a quick bite and drink, so I can not comment on the rooms.
It would be a great place for a stop if you're canoeing or kayaking along the river.
It's a Hall and Woodhouse pub. We have been for a couple of meals over the week. Staff are friendly and happy to help. Food is presented and cooked well. The inside seating and decor is well laided out and clean. The outside seating is comfortable and heaters are attached to large umbrellas if cold. These are situated over looking the canal. Only down side I found was, their plants need a watering. I felt like I was sitting in a dead greenhouse when seated in the orangery area, which is hard for as I'm a gardener by trade.
Did not stay, we were camping few minutes walk away. Best mussels I have had, absolutely delicious. Local Badger IPA was outstanding. Right by the river. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Plenty of gf options to choose from, staff also told us separate kitchen area for gf preparation which is reassuring . Plenty of parking. Clean toilets. Highly recommend
Great location. Next to the River Avon, a watersports centre and a park and ride 15 mins into Bath Town centre. Car park. Footpaths to walk along the river. Lovely room with tea and coffee, milk and kettle and because we weren't overlooking the river, the TV had a live camera of it! Lovely breakfasts, both meat and vegan and great service. Only a minor criticism is that the single beds seemed a bit narrow and wardrobe bit short for my long dress. But will definitely stay there again.
