Wow! Marvellous hospitality, good beers, and exquisite food. Its most impressive when someone can take just basic ingredients and make something truly memorable. Chef Maria made me a poached egg and roasted tomato for breakfast that blew my mind. The fish and chips is quite good too, as is the selection of beers. As for the inn, I had a good nights rest in an ecclectic old building that's just a little out of a Harry Potter book.

We spent one night in the Griffin Inn and the woman working here was wonderful. The room included breakfast in the morning and we had the omelet and poached egg with salmon on a bagel. The food was very good and the room was also very nice and clean. It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely return.

"Dinner-jacketed seekers after authentic rural atmosphere"-- I may be slightly misquoting Kingsley Amis in the novel The Green Man here, but I recently confessed to the bartender at the Griffin Inn, an ancient place, that I felt a bit like that as I tried to get oriented to Somerset. She said not to worry, and that if I really wanted the full Monty I should drive 20 miles away to a strange old cider and beer dispensary by the roadside that always looks derelict and closed but where you can go in and pour yourself whatever you want and then just leave the cash on the barrel head when you're done. Honor system since time immemorial. The local dry cider in Somerset is to die for and cheap and abundant, and has all kinds of strange overtones that most people don't appreciate. Maybe like Cotes du Rhone? It was kind of the bartender--she was a pleasant person and strikingly beautiful--to pour me a sample of this stuff, and warn me that it wasn't everyone's cup of tea. I got addicted after I wandered in and succumbed to the siren song of free Wi-Fi in the pub. I love this place and want to stay here next time I'm in the area. Old, special, a bit magical. Friendly regulars. No one bothers you if you want to sit at the bar and read a book.

I'm not a Bath Regular (Regular Bather?) but the prices at the Griffin for both rooms and food & bev seemed reasonable for the area. It's right off the green behind the Royal Theater easy walk to all the in town sites. The room was clean and comfortable bathroom en suite and with the best water pressure EVER in a B& B. That's the Bed on to the Breakfast. Continental is sitting out waiting for you with several addition hot breakfasts on the menu (all included in the room rate). A great way to fill up before you go touring. There's also a tap room with local brews and evening snackables on order. Cute little courtyard just off the bar. The staff were all very friendly and they play some good rock (at low friendly volume levels) in the pub. I'll definitely be back when next I head to Bath.

Lovely, charming..small looking corner pub but with a large back room. The barmaid was friendly and knew her beers. And the beers here were amazing, both would probably appear in the 10 best beers I've enjoyed so far this year. The Bristol Beer factory Acer (don't make my mistake - it is pronounced like the playing card, not like your rump) was so good, a truly great beer...and I'm not exaggerating. The Potholer couldn't compare but was still a top top beer. Does accommodation too. Expensive...but staying anywhere in Bath is.

This stunning pub has rapidly become one of my favourite haunts in the Bath area. Not only do you get swift, efficient service with a smile, but the range of local ales is extensive and thoughtfully amassed. Every pint is served at a perfect temperature - a rare thing in todays world! The rooms are reasonably priced and I will direct my clients there when they are in the area!

We stayed 3 nights in August 2023 and had a very positive experience indeed. Our room was of a good size and had a clean, modern en suite bathroom. The Griffin is a short walk from the historic centre and many good food places, which we enjoyed a lot. Staff are very friendly and helpful. On their advice we joined a free walking tour with The Mayor of Bath's Corps of Honorary Guides, which was superb and highly recommended! Would definitely stay again and meet the lovely Griffin team again. Thank you.

Perfect location, wonderful room, very good food, and thoughtful staff. I spent three nights at the Griffin Inn and being there played a strong role in the delight of discovering Bath. My room was very quiet and it was also lovely to be able to rest between visits to the many sites the city has to offer. I definitely recommend.

The tastiest beef and cheesiest cauliflower in a comfortable, friendly pub! Didn't stay over, but would like to, great location.

The Griffin has had a recent makeover. On a damp night in August my party of four wanted just one more drink before home. None of the more central pubs/bars hit the spot but we remembered the Griffin. Great shout and will be back again soon!

Lovely pub, welcoming, contemporary and cosy interior. I dropped 1 mark because our 'mixed board ' ( which we shared ) was very underwhelming and unimaginative for £18 even for 1 person. Maybe we made a bad choice. We were given extra bread and olives when I questioned the amount of bread included ( 2 of the thinest slices i've ever seen ). Beer and wine were both very nice. Probably wouldn't return but that's because there is loads of choice in Bath. Overall a nice place to have a drink and maybe the rest of the food available there is better.

Such a lovely pub! I heard The Griffin had reopened under new management at Easter and went yesterday for lunch. The crab risotto is gorgeous and the sharing charcuterie boards are really tasty. Nice friendly atmosphere and beautifully decorated, very happy to have this as my local- I will be back!
