Much more than just a country pub, the beers and cider on offer are always of the highest quality, as is the classy non pretentious menu cooked by a skilled accommodating chef, served by knowledgeable polite waiting staff. The locals are extremely friendly and make newcomers welcome in conversation . The owners clearly know how to run a business.

Superb. Nicest arancini ever. Delicious rare beef, lovely fresh vegetables plus cauliflower cheese and decent roasties. Friendly and welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere. Manages to be a proper local with dogs and wellies and people watching rugby, avoiding the designer gastro pub feel. Can’t wait to go back. (Great local cider too.)

This is always an agreeable experience when visiting. Wife and I had been heading for an alternative venue, but missing the turning we find ourselves approaching the F&B. Not a problem - even less so when we discover this is a Steak & Red Wine night - 2 steak meals and a bottle of plonk for just over £30 - bullseye. An added bonus was meeting again one of the most efficient and professional bar staff we've ever had the pleasure to encounter.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. It's very welcoming, you feel like you're visiting a family member in the countryside. Very kind and friendly staff. Unfortunately the kitchen was already closed when I arrived, a tempting reason to come back and visit.

Last night I had the best hamburger I have had in 20 years - with all the trimmings - it was perfect. My husband, who is a vegetarian, thought his Gnocchi was 'knock out good - and he is a Chef. The Fox and Badger is a great local pub. It even has a separate bar for locals to drink, which is so unusual these days, which was full of local people who clearly value this asset to the community. The atmosphere was amazing. Two weeks ago I took two elderly gentlemen to luncheon, which informed my decision to visit again, because they loved their fish & chips (both of them fishermen who know what 'fresh' means), as well as the proper old-fashioned pub atmosphere - with lovely flashes redolent of the history of this pub, which meant to much to them. The young and friendly staff could not have been more accommodating (moving us to a larger table near the huge fireplace), more attentive in their service, or kinder. The Fox & Badger is also great value. I wish I could give it more stars.

Such an amazing pub. A proper quaint English country pub. The food is all homemade and delicious. Cosy fireplace to warm up after a chilly winters walk. Best homemade pesto on the planet

Great welcome, atmosphere and fantastic vegetarian food. Try the rough pesto and ciabatta followed by the souffle, amazing.

Just cycled from Bath to Wellow. Stopped at the Fox and Badger for a drink. Lovely setting and very friendly. Warning to cyclist! :- don't secure your bike to the sign post in the green centre (near the public phone box). The owner of the land expects you to read her mind as there is no signage to say its private and not only stuck a note on the bike but also came and threatened us by informing us that she would cut the bike locks and dispose of the bikes! Despite apologising she refused to 'get off her high horse'. Best avoid this patch of land!

Best pub food I’ve ever eaten. There’s a reason this place is so popular with the locals. The food is beyond the general pub standard, up there with restaurant standard - food possibly more expensive than the average pub, but well worth the money. Great atmosphere and always a local who’s up for a chat.

Lovely Sunday lunch in a cosy little venue. I had a very nice roast lamb, with tasty veg and slightly over cooked (to my taste and only slightly) Yorkshire puddings. Most of the service was excellent, although one bar staff was very hard to communicate with. Slightly cramped table although I think this was due to the rugby being on.

Found the pub by accident today, tucked away in a picturesque village. We both opted for the burgers & chips (one with cheese and one without) and we were pleasantly surprised to be honest. Firstly, the staff... not only friendly but also competent.... the order came exactly as we had asked. The burgers were big and chunky and perfectly cooked (enough pink in the burger and some juice when sqeezed), very tasty too, with onion/pickle etc. 👍👍👍👍

Went today and very impressed. Relaxed and unpretentious, unlike many in the area. We shared a plate for an early lunch as we hadn't set out to eat. Home made quiche was excellent. They had local beers and Guinness on draught...impressive. Staff were excellent. Great find and shall go back to eat.
