I love this pub. We often go for Sunday lunch. The food is delicious and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I have just started a gluten free diet and they even had gluten free bread which was nicer than the gluten free bread I've tried from the supermarket. It's also dog friendly which is nice as my son and daughter both have dogs.

I love this place the food is suberb, I chose the home made steak pie which is proper...none of this stew with a puffy top...proper pie with massive lumps of excellent quality steak, add homemade gravy and as I'm northern homemade chips (it was a request so apologies to you southern softies) The kids went for burgers and wasn't disappointed...my wife decided on the sausage with bubble and squeak mash, the service is excellent and the beer is fab!

Thank you for enabling 2 couples (who all too rarely get together) to enjoy a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday evening in a venue with friendly staff, a very tasty meal and a chance to sit and talk without having to compete with loud music or noisy surroundings. Definitely worth a return visit!

Simple food done sensationally well....The Blathwayt Arms is a first-rate pub restaurant immersed in the splendor of the Lansdown countryside that's well worth going out of your way for.

We had a completely delicious roast lunch at the Blathwayt yesterday. Despite a seriously busy kitchen the staff were amazing and it was definitely worth the little wait. Highly recommended both for the quality of the meal and the friendly team. Thank you.

It's a very friendly pub where you can eat in the restaurant or the bar. There's a very good regular menu with specials available too. The staff are friendly and attentive. There's a nice garden area if the weather is cooperating! All this and it's dog friendly in the bar area too , so perfect after a good walk

Went here for dinner last night with some friends. Food is delicious. We all had sirloin steak & all were cooked to our liking & just melted in our mouths. Just like steak should be cooked. One thing I will say tho, don't have starters if you have the steak, we were all rolled out the door. Well done to the chef, we will be returning

We had booked a family meal for 26 of us and despite the pressure of feeding us all at the same time, the staff coped admirably. With a wide variety of dishes pre-ordered, there were opportunities to drop the ball but everyone commented how good the food was. A huge thumbs up, thank you.

Amazing setting, beautiful rooms and we got a free upgrade. The room and bathroom were beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the included breakfast was delicious. Free parking and close enough to the centre of Bath to get a taxi, bus or drive in. Also right next to the park and ride. Would highly recommend. We had to take our baby last minute and the staff were very accommodating and we also requested an early check-in in advance. Perfect.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch with family here after a long walk near by. Really friendly service, drinks and food came really promptly and dogs are very welcome too. Wish I’d had room for dessert. The sticky toffee pudding looked so good! Next time 😋

This has been our third visit, and each time, the experience has been fantastic. There are not enough stars to reflect how good it is. We will be back again next year.

The perfect spot to stay for a wedding situated just outside Bath, this is a lot more than a place to rest your head. From warm and friendly welcomes to ridiculously tasty breakfasts and lunches, The Charlcombe Inn is most definitely a place to recommend. The rooms could benefit from varied lighting and there wasn't much by way of toiletry options, hence 4* on the "room" section but overall a fab spot!

Very nice inn, in a peaceful location just outside of Bath, was perfect for a business trip in the centre the next day. Great food and well kept rooms. Normally with an Inn you can hear the various goings-on downstairs, but not a peep.

I enjoyed having my birthday lunch at the Charlcombe Inn at Lansdown. There is a large car park here. The pub was very busy being a Sunday, but the staff were efficient looking after people, taking orders and clearing up after people had vacated their tables. There was a range of classic pub foods and I really enjoyed having something a bit different which was a steak and kidney pie with potatoes and vegetables. I was treated to a Prosecco at the beginning of the meal and also had a glass of red wine during the first course. There were good size portions but I managed to share a dessert which was excellent. I would highly recommend the Charlcombe Inn if you like good food.

Have just spent 8 nights at this lovely Inn close to Bath and walking distance to the. park and ride into the city centre. Nik, Jo, Sophie and all the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food is excellent and all cooked fresh, breakfast is especially lovely. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfy supplying tea and coffee making facilities. Outlook over the racecourse is especially lovely but I can it getting extremely busy on racedays. Overall a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend

Beautiful bedrooms. Freshly decorated. Could offer a few more items as: ironing board. Cups for brushing teeth. Some decaff coffee. Very heavy and warm duvet cover for summertime. Very firm mattress and very firm pillows. Could do with having option of summer duvet cover and soft pillows. Bathroom is beautifully decorated again but the water temperature is unstable going from cold to warm constantly. Room gets very very hot. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the waitress was absolutely lovely.

Recently refurbished to a very high standard we stayed in a lovely room set in a pretty courtyard. It’s near the road but it was so quiet in the room you didn’t hear a thing. The bed was super comfy, the room spacious, well equipped and well thought out, everything we needed really. The staff were lovely and welcoming and so helpful, telling us the best way to see Bath. The Inn is just outside the town, but there is a park and ride 5 minutes walk away with buses every 10 minutes so we didn’t have to worry about parking. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant which is busy with locals and the breakfast was just lovely. Could not fault the Charlecombe in any way and would highly recommend to others.

Amazing find. We stayed in the annex at the back of the pub. Super cute (and secured) courtyard leads directly to the cottage style rooms. Great size, with all you could need. Super clean. Thanking our lucky stars for the rotary fan in there too, as we visited on the hottest weekend known to man! Breakfast was amazing, and slightly more eclectic than the standard full English. And proper coffee! The beer garden looks right over Bath Racecourse. Which is stunning and I'm sure amazing on race days. There's a park and ride a 5 min walk up the main road which will get you a return to Bath for less than £4! But failing to get the last bus, it's less than £15 back in a taxi. Would definitely use again if in the area. All members of staff were insanely friendly and welcoming. We felt right at home!
