Truly a hidden gem of a Gelateria! The consistency is nice and thick, creamy, kind of sticky. The flavors are very rich and natural (doesn't taste artificial). We got the pistachio, raspberry white chocolate, and hazelnut chocolate. All were delicious separately and together. They didn't fill the ice cream to the top of the cup which was kind of disappointing, so it felt a little stingy... but I must admit the ice cream was really good.
They have a few "guest flavors" which are seasonal flavors!
Pretty good gelato. Cute little place with a few options to choose from. I got one of the chocolate choices and it was really good. Nice place to cool off in the Bath city center.
Located right in the Kingsmead Square area, Swoon Gelato was an unexpected treat. I kept seeing people walk by with these enormous waffle cones positively filled with all sorts of different colored ice creams, and spotted the source of the mouthwatering dessert. The vibrant gelatos all looked so delicious and beautifully presented (don't you love when whole ingredients sit on top of the creamy dessert in the display case?), and the guys working behind the counter couldn't have been more friendly or more charming! I only wanted to get one flavor without trying it, but they encouraged me (genuinely!) to try it before I bought it. And then they encouraged me to try another flavor, and another, and another - at one point they were just handing me samples say "but you must try this one too!" They were all so good. I settled on a smaller waffle cone filled with Chocolate Brownie - which was the original flavor I wanted - and it was divine. Rich, creamy, and full of gooey brownies. It absolutely hit the spot. In another world I was smart enough to get two flavors (Chocolate Brownie with Strawberries & Cream) for a pound more! Ugh, next time.
They have certain flavours available all the time, and specialty flavours that change on a monthly basis inspired by the season. This artisanal gelato, made with Somerset milk, churned on site from scratch is absolutely the kind of thing you want to walk around town enjoying on a warm day! Or a cold day. Do they deliver to the States?
I came to Bath recently, for the first time, on a mini little break before starting at the University part time. I did my research before travelling and being obsessed with gelato, had to swing by Swoons. I ended up coming here twice on my two nights in Bath. I tried the Pistachio, Hazelnut, and Fudge Brownie. All of these flavours were absolutely fantastic and pleasantly strong - I have had so much gelato which is bordering on flavourless and disappointing, but that was not the case here! The gelato is beautifully smooth, as one would expect from gelato! There is also seating inside and outside, which is great when you just want to sit and enjoy some gelato! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to the price and portion size, simply having had larger portions for the same price at other gelato shops (even in London). Nevertheless, Swoons gelato is of great quality, and I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in Bath and want some authentic Italian Gelato!
Seeing a queue outside was a good sign (must be popular) - it went quickly and was worth the short wait - friendly staff and delicious gelato - a real find in Bath. Can enjoy on a bench in the square under a tree 🌲
Vegan options (raspberry, mango, 2x chocolate, one with hazelnut)
Delicious and most creamy gelato my husband and I have ever tasted. I had the pistachio and salted caramel which were amazing. My husband had the mango and raspberry both flavors were superb as well. We highly recommend Swoon for a fabulous treat!
Best place to test yourself to something sweet in Bath. Great ice cream flavors, a variety of slow churned dairy-free sorbets. If you've never had a chocolate sorbet, try it, even if you can have dairy. It's rich and creamy but made with water and it goes really well with the dairy-free raspberry sorbet too. Convenient location, places to sit as well, specialty stuff like cakes and sundaes too. Card payment only.
The gelato was delicious and creamy. I got vanilla and hazelnut. My husband got vanilla and bacio, and our daughter got salted caramel and chocolate brownie. We were all very pleased with our dessert.
I tried salted caramel and lotus biscoff flavour. They were amazing. Really good variety of ice cream flavor and pastries. They also have macaroons. However, they don't serve the charcoal icecream anymore, for which we originally went there.
Gelato is far superior to ice cream and Swoon offers wonderful flavours to enjoy. They also stay open late which is a life saver in evenings!
The chap working today (1/9/23 19:00) is a real asset to the Bath store. He is continuously polite and knowledgeable and treats everyone with the same kind and inviting demeanour. Great service!
The best Ice Cream shop by far!! I had mango and raspberry flavour sorbetto. The flavours were spot on. I have a sweet tooth and this went down a treat. I love the technique used pushing the ice cream deep down in the cone. This made a big difference, I enjoyed every single bit and didn’t want it to end.
I will not forget this place. My wife and I had a 25th wedding anniversary cake 🎂 celebration. Thanks to its staff who cared us as a most valuable customer.
They picked up the cone with bare hands, that’s why 4*. Nice and good gelato.
Incredible vegan gelato — vegan chocolate and biscoff were the best
Wonderful, super-tasty and decadent. Be prepared to queue for a while but it's worth the wait. A little pricey but it's in the heart of Bath city centre so to be expected.
Only gelato I’ve come across to do Eat Out Help Out. You can takeaway and only pay by card.
Gelato was delicious and pistachio had nice chunkier pieces than other places. Tasty mint flavour but could be more minty. Mango flavour was solid and tasted fruity.
Professional staff.
Overall one of the best places to have gelato in Bath but it is pricy at nearly £6 for 3 scoops.
The best pistachio gelato I have ever had.
If they did retail ice cream I would be on mail order as unfortunately they are not in my home city, yet 🤞
Definitely worth a visit in bath. Good range of flavours and sorbets. Staff were friendly. There was a queue one day but would be worth the wait. We came back a little later and didn’t queue at all.
Overall, in my top 3 best gelatos alongside Sweden and Italy.
As a big fan of the one in Bristol this one is a bit smaller but less busy and staffs are very lovely. I had a group of 5 people in front of me asking to try perhaps every single flavour the guy who served them was very patient I almost walked away! Ice cream is always yummy!
Visited Saturday night a minute before closing (without knowing) and the man and woman working were still happy to sort us out with the last scoop of sorbet after what must've been a long busy day for them. Appreciate it!
Even on a rainy afternoon there were queues here., which is a good sign. I have given up dairy, but the chocolate gelato meant I didn’t have to miss out. Delicious!
