Gastro Pub with some interesting dishes on a menu. Good service and great ambience. Busy place every evening of the week. We had pork terrine, fried calamari to start with. And fish and chips as a main course. Overall great experience, would love to go back there
Wonderful food.. the food in this Michelin restaurant in Bath is absolute amazing, we really love a personalized menu where we can experience flavors, tastes never ever tried and probably we will never try again. The Octopus is unbelievable 🤤 it is definitely to die for.. the scallops and braised lamb neck for starters are really good as well.. as main we had 7oz hanger steak and pork tenderloin. All food very well prepared, decorated and tasted. I would definitely come back again.. the service is very good, all very kind and worried..
Amazing roast chicken at a competitive price. My wife had the vegetarian meal. She is really fussy. Doesn't like cheese, doesn't like Quorn. She LOVED the butter nut squash dinner. We'll definitely be back soon
Absolute must-visit when in Bath. From atmosphere and attentiveness of the staff to the quality & flavor of the dishes. We came by on Sunday for their classic roast, and left absolutely amazed. Best one we have tried so far in the UK. Thank you to the whole team for keeping the standard high, it is very hard to come by delicious food in the UK these days. Londoners should come here to taste the real deal 🙏🏽
Our first Sunday roast ever in England and Chequers delivered (not literally!). The term "Sunday lunch" is a little misleading because they serve Sunday lunch all day which was appreciated since we arrived in England after 4pm and we had only 1 Sunday to fit it in. Portion sizes were significantly large and there were plenty of roast options. We ordered the porchetta roast (pork belly) and beef sirloin roast but they have fish, chicken and vegetarian as well. Pork belly was perfectly cooked being moist and melted in your mouth. I shall not comment on the beef since I live in Alberta 😉😉. The sides on the plate were huge and very tasty. Enjoyed the hispi cabbage and crispy duck fat potatoes (as big as your head). The location was outside the main tourist strip and it was worth the 15 mins walk. We were sad that the sticky toffee pudding was not available when we came (as it's apparently more of a winter dessert)
I had guests visiting the UK for the first time and to give them a proper roast dinner experience I decided to take them here. The best decision ever! The food was fantastic, the best roast I have ever had as well. The staff was very attentive and I will definitely be returning when in Bath again.
Called last minute as OpenTable has no availability. Lovely lady on the phone offered a table to us! Great vibe inside as the night goes on. Impeccable pork belly roast. Also had a scallop which I gobbled down so fast there was no chance for pictures! I was so full I couldn’t fit in pudding- but the ones going to other tables looked amazing! Our server was amazing! I was unsure of the wines so he kindly offered a taster before I ordered one. Would recommend while in Bath.
Impressive in all categories. Service was excellent and friendly on a busy night. Plating was beautiful, drinks a highlight and flavor combinations of each dish brilliantly executed. We enjoyed the gnocchi, pork chop, steak special and panna cotta. We would be happy to frequent this restaurant in any top gourmet capitol of the world. So happy to have discovered such a gem in Bath.

We had a lovely dinner at The Chequers. I ordered the heritage tomato with pumpkin pesto and torched mozzarella as my starter and for my main course I had the pan seared fillet of hake, which was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect end to our meal. Our bill for two people came to 100 pounds. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends visiting Bath.
The roast dinners were visually beautiful and delicious. Do add on the cheesy leeks - they are heavenly!
This was my first time at Cheques but it won't be my last - will be trying to attend in the week as their a la carte menu also sounds divine.
