This place was sooooooo good, and everyone who works here is really nice. I had an expensive bracelet fall off on my way to the restroom and didn't even notice. One of the waiters saw it and brought it back to me at the table. I would never have realized it until we got to our next destination. Ok, back to the food. All of it, terrific. The croquetas, the chorizo, the patatas bravas, all of the classics, well done. A rando standout? Fried chicken. In Bath. In a Spanish restaurant. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Come to this warm and inviting restaurant, so well worth it.

La Perla was a welcome sight for lunch, as we walked down the narrow stairs past the outdoor seating to the dimly lit cave that awaited us. A bit dark for a summer day but romantic. There was a bar at the entrance and then we were led back to tables that were essentially a really lovely basement under the street above. Tapas menu was perfect because there were many selections to choose from and enjoy with a glass of wine. Hey, when on holiday, day drinking at its finest! We opted for the bread basket with ample types alongside dipping sauces and large, meaty olives. Then came the cured ham, sliced thin with almonds, really flavourful. A small side salad enough for two and cup of gazpacho were next. The gazpacho was cool and fresh but a bit plain for my taste. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried squid which came with dabs of aioli and was of great quality. Last was the spicy chorizo hotdog with cheese. This was a strange menu item, but my dining partner had to have it. I tried a bite, and thought it definitely livened up the traditional hotdog. The food was delicious but there was just something lacking from the service department. Our waiter was very attentive to but did not smile once. He also had a habit of only looking at my partner when both of us addressed him. Aside from a lively hen's party at the table near us, the place was empty. I think perhaps if they stepped up the service (and marketing?) they could have easily served more people on a weekend. Nevertheless, it was a lovely meal and romantic setting.

Very cool atmosphere. Excellent food. We had tapas: shrimp, chicken garlic, roasted pork, Spanish sausages. All excellent, though we might have passed in the shrimp and tried something else. We also had the bread basket. Very good. I had the Garnacha and my wife sangria. Yum.

Great tapas place in downtown Bath. After walking around for a while looking for dining options we settled on La Perla. The stairs leads you into a cave for an intimate dining experience. We ordered several dishes including papas bravas, lamb, croquettes, ham, and bread with dipping sauces. The highlight was the potatoes bravas! It was spicy, crispy and extremely flavorful. We will be returning here if we are in this area again.

Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend!! We had beef stew, Iberian pork, goat cheese croquettes and duck confit with side salad. They all tasted wonderful, however the duck confit was our favorite dish. Sangrias (wine and champagne) were both lovely and my husband enjoyed his sea salt beer. Very nice atmosphere indeed and friendly and knowledgeable staff.

So glad we found La Perla. Absolutely wonderful tapas with a unique location and wonderful staff. There are gluten free options which helped us in choosing here for dinner.

Great ambiance and wonderful service. We ordered a number of tapas (5 I think) plus a few glasses of wine. Generally the food was better than good, but there were a few items (particularly the vegetable dish) that we didn't like. The prawns were good as was the chicken though. I would go again and recommend to others.

Excellent meal. Cellar restaurant with friendly service. The tapas we had were the red snapper, the prawns, the chicken, and the goat cheese. Together with the bread, olives and whipped butter starer, we had a filling meal. Seemed reasonably priced, too.

This was my second visit to La Perla, it won't be my last and I'll leave less time between visits in future. The interior is gorgeous, clever lighting and interior design touches are artistic and help create a fabulous ambience. The star of the show has to be the food though, just outstanding quality in all the tapas we tried. As for the wine list? First rate choices. Personally I recommend this Conde Valdemar Rioja. Overall this is a beautiful and welcoming restaurant with an authentic Spanish feel. Worth a visit...soon!

Lovely location and excellent food. The staff were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the menu. The vibe was very chilled and we spent a few enjoyable hours with friends and very much enjoyed the unrushed and superb dishes that kept coming out!

Cute underground restaurant in Bath. I had a quick bite there this week before heading back to London. Ordered their sangria, Spanish omelette and duck confit. I enjoyed the omelette better, as the duck was a tad dry and the skin wasn't crispy enough. However, I still recommend it as the service was friendly and attentive.

Simply the best Spanish restaurant we have been to in a long time. Owned by a family, Dmitry from Greece and his wife from Valencia, who, along with her son, is the chef. The food is brilliant with some amazing twists to the usual Spanish dishes. Staff are beautiful and attentive. Make it a must visit when in Bath.

I went to La Perla for dinner with my mother and it was delightful. We were served by Dom, who was absolutely adorable and kind, she took care of us very well and made us feel welcome. It was a pleasure to meet her. The food was great and I look forward to coming again.

This was a small Spanish restaurant located on basement floor, you enter through a stairs and through a wine store into a cosy restaurant. The staff are both friendly and attentive with a good wine selection and sangaria tasting great! We had 6 dishes between two of us and that was plenty of food. The olives where big and packed full of flavour. Other highlights were the iberica ham with blue cheese and the croquettes both of which could melt in your mouth. The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars was the patatas bravas. Normally these are my favourite dish however I found them bland and lacking flavour. All in all a good experience and I would recommend.
