Awesome local bar - just around the corner from the apt we stayed at. Small cozy atmosphere, good beer and wine selection, and good food in a relaxed pub. Trivia mondays!
Dinner with friends on our one night in the city of Bath, England! Keeping to the plan to dine in local neighborhood spots (read "pubs") when possible we selected this spot because it was close to the hotel we were staying in. What a good choice it was! A true local pub with a warm vibe. We scored a table near the bar and started off with some beers and wine. For dinner we had hamburgers with fries, a mackerel dish and a beef and pork pie. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, the mackerel was good although seemed a bit meager serving and the pie was superb! The prices were reasonable, the service was efficient and no one bothered us when we sat around chatting for a bit afterwards. Another pleasant dinner experience!
Amazing to go to a local pub and interact with the locals in a really authentic way. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and as foreigners we felt embraced even though we were in a truly local pub.
Neighborhood pub with excellent food. We enjoyed the local Gem Bath ale and found it very good. The staff was very friendly and recommended several excellent items on the menu. We tried the roasted tomato soup, mulled pear salad, braised beef stew, and the vegetable pie. All were excellent. We finished the meal with a sticky toffee pudding which was also very good. Overall, it was a very good experience and this pub is highly recommended!
Read Phil's review for the details. This place is even nicer in winter with a roaring open fire to welcome you in from the snow. The food is excellent, well priced and uses local produce as much as possible. The classic dish at the Pulteney Arms is their bangers and mash (choose from about a dozen varieties of sausage) washed down with a pint of Bath brewed Gem ale.
Ah, to spend a saturday afternoon outside the pulteney arms, quaffing bath ales finest...heaven. Set a little off the main road, you can sit on the pavement tables, lean against the wall and watch the world go by. Late afternoon sun bathes the area. The ales are fantastic, and the food isn't half bad either. Coupled with friendly staff and unobtrusive TV, it's a really nice place.
A great pub friendy locals and staff. They also serve food here whitch is excellent. You can stay here if there is a room avalabile which i reckomend that you do it is great breakfast and good room service.
excellent place great food music and people
We popped in for a quick drink. Everyone was so welcoming and it just felt like a lovely pub. Next time we are back in bath we will definitely go back for a Sunday lunch as they looked awesome 🤩
Best pint in months! Young lady behind the bar knows how to pour a pint. Would have a few more but driving. 😅
We hired the private room upstairs for a special Mother's Day meal with the family. The room was fantastic, the food was delicious, and Sasha and the team looked after us wonderfully. I would highly recommend the Pulteney Arms for a meal or a quiet pint in a warm and friendly local pub. Thank you ☺️
This is a great little pub on the edge of Bath. They have a small outside space which is perfect to sit outside on a sunny day and watch the world go by. Nice and relaxing and good food and service.
This in an awesome pub. Good food, great beer and lovely staff. What more do you need.
Great beer, good food, VERY dog-friendly (including the host, Hugo the Labrador), very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
A truly excellent, friendly pub, splendid variety of drinks and possibly the best pub food in Bath. Highly recommended.
Food was ok, my friend liked his more so. Perhaps my choice of ham, egg & chips.... Service was engaging and good. Ambience good, beer good.
Thoroughly enjoyed my second visit here, albeit 40 years apart. Excellent food and great service in a nice quiet part of a quite wonderful city.
