We were given a voucher to have a Japanese tea here and we had a wonderful experience. We learnt so much about the teas from the very knowledgeable and engaging owner and the food was delicious. Couldn't help but buy some more tea to take home.
All absolutely delicious. Nice relaxing atmosphere, kindness and very wide choice of teas. Fantastic gyozas are icing on the cake. Highly recommended
I had a great experience here today, as a Brit that usually just has a standard English breakfast, it was a new experience. There is a huge selection of single origin leaf tea, and the family that runs the cafe are very happy to talk through the options and have the knowledge that applies to each of their selection. Serving in different pots and cups based on the traditional preparation, at whichever temperatures fit the tea. We were welcome to reinfuse our tea as much as we liked, with a focus on taking time to enjoy the tea - I did so 4 times. Trying tea in this way felt very respectful of the original cultures, which us brits seldom do - and allowed us to focus on the taste of the teas. I left feeling refreshed and enlightened, and I couldn’t recommend this place enough. A really nice and special experience, please support this business!
The most amazing cafe for tea lovers! A must visit.
This cafe is awesome. A huge selection of teas that can be recommended to you by the wonderful owner. The brewing method is also taught to you so you are able to brew your own tea. Amazing flavours and a really nice ambience inside.
Really highly recommended
Wow what an experience! I got in contact with these guys whilst trying to find a place to take my tea obsessed girlfriend for lunch. I received an email back from Michelle who gave me all the info I needed and also arranged for a candle to be put in our cake.
We went for the two person sharing board with a different tea each. Everything about the food was great, the whole tea experience with a timer was brilliant. We were given a great amount of info from the waitress about the tea and how it was made.
I actually drank more tea in the hour I was there than I have done I’ve the last ten years.
If you’re a fan of tea, this is the place to go!
The only thing we felt the place needed was a tiny bit of background music, otherwise it was perfect!
Such a lovely experience sampling different types of tea and the theatre of the brew and pour. The blueberry scones were the perfect accompaniment. 10/10 recommend!
As a Taiwanese, I’m glad I can taste Taiwanese tea in the UK. It makes me feel like going back to Taiwan and already visited many times.
Their dessert is good, and I like scones with black tea. Gyoza is good with oolong or green tea.
The price is valuable, and the service is friendly.
Highly recommend this!!!!!!!
Outstanding choice of teas from around the world with amazing and attentive service. Highly recommend visiting in Bath, and don't forget to ask for advice on tea sipping.
Ordered from Belgium and was a little fearful about delivery post-brexit but need not have worried! Beautiful, sustainable packaging with a lovely handwritten note and exquisite tea. I’ve been watching their stories on instagram and was inspired to take some time out of each day for tea and now I genuinely look forward it. Highly recommended!
Myself and my partner visited Comins Tea during a visit to Bath for my birthday in April. It's an absolutely lovely place, that I'd happily recommend to anyone. Michelle and Rob are sweethearts, who are passionate and knowledgeable about the tea they stock, and the traditional ways they are served.
Everything on the menu is reasonable, unique and most importantly delicious! If you are a green tea fan I'd highly recommend the Matcha & White Chocolate Cookie, and the Matcha Ice Cream. We tried nearly everything on the menu, and these plus the Sri Lankan Egg Hopper, and the Indian Black Rice Porridge were our favourites.
It's a calm, relaxing space that we felt welcome to spend time in.
Thank you for making my birthday so special, and I hope to visit you again sometime!
Not your average Bath tea shop! Comins is a tea importer and the tea shop sells a broad range of black, green and white teas. They also sell loose leaf tea in the shop, so you can try it before you buy it! The tea bread is wicked! They even have a tea school where you can try various teas and learn about where they come from and how they're grown.
Friendly staff, excellent experience. We were in a rush for the bus and was busy but the lady serving us was very calm and collected. Will go again when more time to experience the teas and food
Fantastic tea shop hidden in plain sight! Came across it on a Monday lunchtime, not too busy unlike some coffee shops a stones throw away.
The amount of tea is astounding! I went for the 'Ruby Black' which was devine. Also opted for the veg gyoza which were also beautiful, the sriracha sauce adds a great choice for a spicy kick!
Staff were friendly and informative, not too intrusive with the choices and explained the brewing times that each tea we chose had. Loved the fact they left you with a pot of hot water to refill as you went along!
The cake choice was also lovely - the ginger cake was gorgeous!
Cant recommend enough if you want a delightful change from the generic coffee shops all over Bath.
Great range of cakes (mainly tea based!) to complement their extensive range of teas.
Very friendly and helpful owner and staff.
I really enjoyed my time at Comins Tea. You can tell that the owners really have a personal passion over everything and take care of every detail.
We came here for lunch during the week — although pre booking is not required, it is recommended. When we arrived it was rather quiet but to our liking.
We both ordered the pork dumplings, the Asian salad, daal and our respective teas. Everything was really delicious — and the selection of tea is exceptional. We finished our meal with a matcha green tea lolly which was very nice — not too sweet but deliciously creamy. And not to worry as you’re instructed on how to make you’re tea. Most time it can be re-brewed so you get your money’s worth.
Very cosy and quiet place to spend an afternoon with your loved ones. We ordered the Japanese sencha. It was soooo fragrant omg! The matcha ice cream was stunning too. Will definitely go back to this place when I visit bath again.
Love the gyoza super much!!!! Can’t explain how would I gonna miss the gyoza here!!!! The leek and red onion dumplings are fabulous!!!!! The best version of the vegan dumplings!!!!
And also the tea here are definitely great!!!!!
Extremely recommend to visit here when you were in Bath!!!!!
Lovely stay at Comins Tea. Family run business, everything is exquisite.
Loved the Macha and the gyozas, you can feel the passion and that makes the difference, they don't hesitate to spent time with you, explaining the different flavours, how to brew your tea and how to enjoy it. 💯
Thanks for the stay!
What a brilliant little find just off of the central shopping area in Bath.
I usually choose a coffee house when looking for a place to take a break when out and about, but Comins attracted me for its originality.
I had a black Japanese tea that i easily made four good sized cups out of, along with the pork gyoza and matcha ice cream.
For the quality of the tea and food, i think the price was very reasonable. The staff were very friendly, knowledgable and helpful for someone who hasn't really ventured further than basics red label breakfast tea before.
When i am back in Bath this is definitely somewhere i will be returning to.
