Me and my little girl had Sunday lunch and it was amazing as always , there was nothing left on either plate. I've been a few times and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal or experience. The staff are always very friendly and professional . Well done guys your all fantastic .

We have been here a few times whilst staying at the Chatsworth Caravan site. The fact that it accepts our three dogs is praise in itself. On top of this the staff have ALWAYS been helpful, friendly and happy. The food has also never disappointed. Because of our experience at The Devonshire I treated my husband to an overnight stay for his birthday. Yet again, friendly, jolly and lovely service, very attentive. Thank you. In reply to some of the negative feedback that some people have posted: Did you actually say something to the staff at the time? Did you give the staff are chance to help you with your "complaint"? Probably not. So on behalf of my husband, my treasured dogs and myself, thank you The Devonshire, Baslow.

Never had a bad meal here, the menu is full of choice even for a fussy eater like me, and the food is always fantastic! I've also stayed over several times and all of the rooms are beautiful. The staff are great, always friendly and smiling and can't do enough to help you. Bar staff are well trained (great gin and tonics!) and the wine list is very impressive and reasonably priced. As for the car park scheme, I've visited several times and struggled to park due to people abandoning their cars to go for walks in the area so I actually think it's a great idea. Not only is it completely understandable that the owners don't want to offer free parking for non-customers, it ensures parking is always available for paying guests. I'd much rather spend 30 seconds providing my car registration at the bar, with a drink in my hand, than 5 minutes driving round looking for a space because of non-customers taking advantage of a free car park! And as there are signs EVERYWHERE I don't understand how anyone can complain, to me it just shows the owners were quick to spot an issue with the car park and have addressed it quickly and easily! Keep up the good work guys and Happy New Year!

Walked here whilst staying at the Chatsworth caravan and motorhome campsite. Had a look around the village and popped in for Sunday lunch in September. The restaurant was fully booked so we had a table in the bar. Excellent menu with gluten free options and friendly staff but the meals were quite expensive. Good selection of beers and the food was very good. We felt that the painted tables outside looked out of character with the classy restaurant.

Good looking place and service was OK. Food was alright but Expensive for the quality. Price reflective of location. Camembert missing something as a dish, like a pickle or something fresh. Steak pie very overdone and gravy tasted/looked 'instant'. Nice wine. Ok overall

This hotel is the best dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed in! Whilst it may not suite people without dogs it ticked every box for us, we could even go in the restaurant for breakfast which was a first for us All the staff were very friendly and the room (no 9) was lovely, the shower was excellent.

Food is always out of the top drawer at the Devonshire Arms, and the atmosphere is almost the perfect blend of intimate and tranquil. Service could be slightly quicker, even when not at peak times, but that is being picky! PS. Was really sad to see the departure of the Owen Taylor's Sausage and Mash, was my favourite dish by some distance. But the braised lamb shepherd's pie is an excellent alternative!

Didn't stay over but the rooms look very nice. Visited for an evening meal. The pub itself is very nice. We sat in the bar area which was cosy. Food options are great and very tasty! Friendly service. Good selection of drinks available. Would definitely recommend.

Great pub situated in the pretty village of Baslow. Dining is in a circular room with a stunning ceiling. We had a delicious Sunday lunch which came with all the trimmings and no less than five veg, all perfectly cooked. Great wine list, with excellent options if you are drinking by the glass. Service was friendly and efficient, and our dog was made very welcome.

If perfection could ever be achieved this place comes pretty close to it. From the incredibly warm welcome through to the spotless room with crisp white towels and "real" coffee. Even the morning staff were genuinely happy and content. Well done! Even at the great value this place sells for it demonstrates that great service can be delivered.

The food was top notch, with the biggest plate of bread, olives and vinegar we've ever seen! The staff are friendly and helpful so a very enjoyable evening in a fabulous location.

This place is amazing! Lisa, Amy & Gail couldn't do more for us. Quite frankly all the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and their friendly manner made you feel like you'd known them for years! Vicky & Kirstie will be back and we are all doing shots next time! The best bit is they are Dog Friendly 🐾

Staff were very welcoming, we were seated quickly. Delicious food mains priced £14-17.50 - totally worth it though, top quality. Desserts £5-6 definitely recommend the warm cookie but the churros were horrible, very over done and more like a chip. The cocktails were absolutely amazing £7.50 each but best I’ve ever had. People seemed to love the gin variety. It is also a hotel so it does get very busy. It took a little while to pay and leave but other than that I couldn’t fault the service.

Some of the food was excellent. Service was friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Great that they allow you to bring your dog along – we saw only one table that didn’t have a dog with them.

We went to The Devonshire Erms twice. First time it was for the Sunday roast, and then for their weekday menu. Both times the food was great, and the portions were quite sumptuous. The restaurant and bar are big enough to have open tables even on a busy day. We were very pleased.

Tasty food, helpful and friendly staff. Ordered a few dishes as a tapas and shared between us. Has a restaurant and bar side, we sat on the bar side, there was a sofa which looked very comfy. Some parking outside.

Got back from a long day of walking the Chatsworth estate grounds and was welcomed in even though we definitely smelled of sheep and rain. The staff was friendly and the food fantastic. I recommend the Shepard's pie.
