I don’t normally leave reviews on restaurants unless they’re really good and In this instance it was INCREDIBLE. The food is fantastic, it was one of the best roast dinners I have had in a very long time. Service was very good and all waiters were very polite and attentive. 10/10 highly recommend🌟

A really great experience here, calling in on a Sunday lunchtime with no booking as just passing through. Instantly made to feel very welcome, and from just stopping for a drink ended up having food. The Sunday roast looked very tempting, but had the sandwiches, which were more than a simple sandwich and were fantastic. Service was truly excellent and all the staff so friendly. We will definitely try to get here again. Wish every pub could be as good as this.

Lovely pub. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Sam. Nothing was too much trouble. Food excellent. It was the best Fish finger sandwich I have ever had. Spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend paying a visit.

We travel to The Prince of Wales, Baslow from Derby on a friend recommendation. It took us approximately 40 minutes to arrive in Baslow, but the journey itself was very scenic & a joy. The Prince of Wales is located in the heart of Baslow, on Chatsworth house's footstep. The restaurant has a modern yet rural twist; fitting perfectly with its soundings, & is a beautiful place lookwise. The Prince of Wales offers a well varied menu & has a great selection. Our choices below: BBQ Asparagus, with olive oil, mayonnaise, poached hens egg & walnut crumb - The flavours to this dish were incredible. The walnut crumbs really do make this dish so flavoursome. Brown Crab Rarebit, with burnt leek, mayonnaise & red mustard cress - If you're a fish lover, then this dish really is for you. The crab wasn't over powered by any of the other condiments & was very tasty. Highly recommend if you're into your fish dishes. Soup of The Day - The soup on offer was tandoori carrot. This really was a unique taste; packed full of flavour. It had a great curry flavour taste to it, but for someone who isn't into their Indian food, then I would probably recommend not ordering this soup, as the tandoori flavour really quite strong. Slow Roasted Baslow Beef, with Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables & Beef Gravy - The beef I can honestly say was probably one of the best cuts of beef's I have ever had. It was perfect, succulent & out right delicious. The Yorkshire pudding were crunchy, the roast potatoes were fluffy, the seasonal vegetables complimented the dish so well. The beef's gravy was rich, full of a red wine taste & completed this dish extremely well. Cherry & Vanilla Ice Cream - I am not really a dessert person, but I have to say, this really was the best ice cream I have ever tasted. The creaminess was on point, the flavours were of the highest order; this dessert really did leave me speechless & I would strong advise you trying this for yourself. Without a doubt, I will be visiting again & I will most defiantly be recommending this restaurant also.

Driving back from a morning walk along Stanage Edge with our eyes peeled to grab some pub lunch. We struck gold. 10/10 would recommend a visit the Prince of Wales for some brilliant pub grub. Black pudding for starter which was delicious, however I am told the Pea soup is stunning too. After starters, we both had fish and chips - the peas were the best we’ve ever had and the homemade tartre sauce was gorgeous. Thanks to the staff who gave an excellent service too 👍

Lovely dog friendly gastro pub that serves excellent food. We were sat in the downstairs bar area and it was fairly busy. Despite this, the service was reasonably good but the food was superb. Generous portion sizes and rump of lamb cooked to perfection. It’s not cheap but the quality of food makes it well worth a visit.

Iva was very patient and supportive to get me the booking I wanted. The welcome was really friendly and internally the decor is very contemporary without losing the old world charm of the building fabric. Outside it's a stylish old building and what you find inside is a very nice surprise. A good range of beers, wines spirits and especially ... whiskies. the owner (or the Chef) has not made the classic mistake of modern day eateries of creating a huge menu with nothing particularly well cooked. The Menu here, is well thought through, small (but enough choice to provide most diners with something). The presentation, portions, chef skills were all exemplary on every course. Let's get the only negative we have for the place out of the way, the price range of the wines is high. It's possible today, to get very good wines are more than affordable prices. The choice of wine by the glass is weak; (an excellent example of innovation in wine choice by bottle or glass can be found at annother establishment along the road) However, this point wouldn't stop me going again, we'd either grit our teeth when ordering wine, or drink beer. This is an excellent place for a meal, and while away a few hours relaxing. The 'wine' point already made, takes the Prince of Wales into the 'definitely not cheap' range, but it is still good value for money. Well worth a visit, we'll be going again.

Had an amazing meal at the Prince of Wales whilst in Baslow, it was lunch for less and we chose the chicken dish which was exceptional!! Even though it was lunch for less, the meal was of a high quality and standard and was delicious! Would recommend it

We had a really lovely dinner here in the upstairs restaurant part of the pub. The food was delicious and very generously portioned. Service was very attentive and polite. The only slight negative was a very loud party of eight dining and drinking - in such a small space, a large group like that can dominate quite easily. It was hard for me to ear my dinner partner at times. Overall, we would definitely come again and would look forward to it, though!
