Passed by multiple times but never stopped. Today, despite the wind, I stopped and sat on the sunny terrace. Busy inside and out with nice atmosphere. Good cake selection including a courgette cake. Was not that adventurous on that day so ordered a lemon drizzle cake. It looked lovely and tasted really nice. Also ordered a black americano. Lovely coffee so must be using a good coffee bean brand. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I will return and use the loyalty card that was offered to me, you get a free hot drink after few visits. Once the card is full, you will also get a chance to win the raffle. I just wish they were offering breakfast.
Best flat white in BASINGSTOKE. And the sourdough sandwich was good. The hidden gem of a lounge downstairs.
Great flavourful coffee, although a bit on the sweeter side for my liking compared to most cappuccinos I've had (possibly the milk). Brilliant staff.
A wonderful hidden gem in Basingstoke with a delightful cosy atmosphere and friendly staff, plus a great variety of drinks. We love supporting this local independent business, and the coffee is delicious! I would love to give it 5 stars but must say there are two things i’d love to see improved - it usually takes about 10 minutes to make a coffee, which means I can’t visit when I’m in a hurry, and I wish there were prices listed for each food item. Neither are a problem for a relaxed Saturday morning coffee break, but I’d like to spend my money in this brilliant spot when I’m grabbing a quick drink to go too.
I’d decided to pop in here for a coffee and a place to get my head down and do some work. It had a really chilled out atmosphere, a really naturally unpretentious decor and gave me Amsterdam vibes, especially when you went downstairs. The staff were extremely accommodating and super friendly, offering you free wi-fi and access to power sockets. All I had was a coffee, as annoyingly I’d had breakfast before I left the house, but it was damn tasty, despite it being quite dark tasting. I’d highly recommend this to everyone and I’ll certainly be back as I desperately want to try some of their menu options, and especially the cakes! Plus I very much enjoyed an awesome selection of music that played in the background
Very lovely independent coffee shop. The coffee always tastes great.
They sell locally made items including sourdough bread, pastries and crafts, I especially like the olive bread. The coffee blend they use is slightly bitter but tastes really nice in the drinks they make.
The atmosphere is very comfy, especially downstairs where there is more relaxed seating and a couple board games available.
The people that work here are very friendly and chatty and remembered my order since the first time that I came here. Something that is difficult to find in businesses nowadays.
Anyway, my goto coffee shop :)
Extremely friendly staff here, I was being served properly with a smile. The setting is really nice and cozy. The cafe is dog friendly and helping local business and produces by having them on display. All in all a great addition to Basingstoke. Come and try it out if you haven't yet!.
Honestly I can not say enough good things about Willows, every time I go in it's like being greeted by friends and at this point they know my usual off by heart which is just so lovely!
I always have a wonderful chat with Daniel the manager who is an absolute treasure and the other staff who usually make my mornings better because I am so far from a morning person!
Beyond grateful to have this wonderful little independent gem just on the doorstep that welcomes all and just has the best little quirky sense of belonging.
We came to Willows this afternoon for a family treat- it’s our favourite café.
Daniel served us and was brilliant!
Smiley, friendly and chatted with our children.
Cakes were very yummy! A lovely way to end our week.
Finally found a decent flat white in Basingstoke. It's a bit tucked away in town, but delicious. An authentic flat white for sure.
I've yet to try the food, but from what I've seen go by I'm sure I will at some point! The cakes look amazing.
EDIT: I came back for the sourdough toastie as advised. How can a cheese and tomato toastie be so good..! The bread is spectacular and the chili chutney is out of this world! Thank you for the tip.

A rare (for Basingstoke) example of an independent coffee house. Situated at the junction of Church Street and historic Cross Street, just outside the town's characterless shopping centre, the dog-friendly Willows Coffee House is a welcome break from the hard, brash commercialism found a very short distance away. On sunny days, sitting outside with a home-brewed coffee and a simple home-made snack is a most delightful experience. Recommended.
Charming independent coffee emporium, arabica beans figure prominently, so come here for flavour rather than the heavy caffeine hit of robusta. Staff are friendly and efficient, bringing your drink to you rather than making you stand around. Limited food options, but increasing rapidly. Indoor is cosy, outdoors is a broad, spacious pedestrian area with shade and sun (when available!).
Quirky little spot, great coffee!!
Dog friendly, chatty staff who helped recommend what filling to have in my toastie. Lovely food. What's not to love.
Polite staff, nice and cozy little place and the best coffee I've had in Basingstoke. Plenty of seating indoors (and outdoors when weather allows!
Lovely coffee with a nice choice of cakes/snacks, both vegan and non vegan. Quaint interior with additional hidden seating downstairs.

Excellent coffee, food, staff, and atmosphere. The Warren seating downstairs is a very atmospheric and relaxing place to enjoy a coffee.
What a really nice place. Something different. Really nice, cheerful staff, great selection of cakes and pasteries and by far the best coffee in town. An independent place that beats the corporate branded coffee houses, good on you.
