My partner and I went here for dinner around 2 weeks ago. We don’t usually get Chinese as I usually get sick from oily it is. We went here under hood review from a friend. Was very nice! Would definitely go back again!
Pretty standard Chinese takeaway nothing fancy but I enjoyed my food .. generous portions

Extremely impressed. Decided to try them out due to the amazing reviews. Being the fussy person I am, I am rarely impressed with food but I'm glad to say my expectations were exceeded. Definitely our new Chinese spot. Shot out to the lovely guy who took our order over the phone, as well as the lovely guy who delivered our food. Great service all around, thank you!

Always a friendly welcome from Steve on the counter. Food is usually ready within 10mins and there's plenty of it in the portion sizes. Good value.
Golden city is the best Chinese takeaway that you will find in Pitsea for miles around. The guy that takes your order is very friendly. I like my pancake rolls extra crispy and they always do it perfect. No matter what I get from chicken to seafood it is always excellent hot and tastes great. 10 out of 10 well recommended.
Used this takeaway for past few years. Food is slightly more expensive than others I feel, but you don't care because the quality is so good!
I would happily drive back here to get food if I moved out the area!

First time using Golden City last night, wanted a new takeaway as our regular can be a bit hit and miss. Have to say was very impressed, guy behind the counter was super friendly, was a 6 min drive back home and food was piping hot, chow mein was lovely, full of flavour. Would defiantly using again. Thanks Golden City!
Portion sizes are very good, prices a little bit higher than other local chinese takeaways and I'm not överken on their egg fried rice. It gets very busy and it's hard to get through on the phone as constantly engaged so we drove there in the end.
The guy front of house is great he's been there since the 80s and has a fab cockney accent. Food is good quality.
This is the best Chinese take away in Basildon. I like my food spicy. Singapore Rice noodles is absolutely brilliant. You must try Special Chinese Curry with Egg Fried Rice. Wow. My favourite. Nice portion too.

Never used to go here much, but now I've tried a wide variety of the food they do, it is really, really amazing. Always receive hot food as expected, always produce a friendly service, always patient and kind and smiling, making you feel welcome, and for the quality of the food, the prices are pretty good. Again, couldn't ask for anything else.
