So pleasantly suprised with our visit today ! Fish finger sandwich is 100 per cent fish ! The tartare sauce is amazing and also made by them as well. Lovely staff and 5/5 . Certainly be coming back to try the homemade quiche !

What a fantastic find this is off the beaten track , worth a visit to this town just for this cafe. Service is faultless where nothing is too much trouble, we went twice over our weekend away in the area. Fish finger sandwich to die for as well as the the Lincolnshire poacher sandwich with carrot chutney , Beef and horseradish and ham and cheese toastie . Only sad could not try the whole menu, will visit Barton again when up north just for the pleasure of this establishment

This place is lovely, well worth the trip over the water from East Yorkshire. We loved the decor, only stayed for coffee and homemade cakes but will try lunch next time - the look on our kids' faces when their hot chocolate specials arrived was priceless! Great that the school museum is accessible so our 8 year old could look through the old ladybird books while we enjoyed our drinks. A hidden gem!

Had to wait a little(it was busy) but did not mind at all as was a very relaxing atmosphere and the decor and personal little touches gave us lots to look at. Staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely one of my new favourite places. Thank you for a lovely lunch xx

Psst. Don't tell anyone but the breakfasts here are amazing. Mrs P and I only went in for a cup of tea and when we saw the inside and saw the menu, it had to be done. Go on, give it a go. 👍😁

Thus is a lovely little cafe tucked within the museum with the most friendly staff who were rushed off their feet with our large party making ourselves comfortable there recently. The staff were none the less just delightful.

Just commenting on a recent 2 star review about waiting 50 mins for a coffee. I was there that day and 19 people arrived (having booked for coffee and cake) and then asked for breakfasts. Consequently there was a slight delay but not really a surprise given the circumstances. Some of the 19 were rude to the staff and (given that standard of behaviour), not surprisingly, the party left without leaving a tip. Apparently the party was from the University of the 3rd Age...presumably taking a course in "Entitled Behaviour" rather than "Good Manners". This is an excellent cafe, run by lovely people serving first class food in an interesting environment. Great artwork on show by the local art group is a free bonus when eating.

Booked a prosecco tea as a little surprise for my wife. Arranged in advance and could even select my sandwich choices (filling and bread type). Wonderful food, excellent service and I am in my wife's good books for a few days ;-) . Excellent!

I love this little cafe. Really nice cakes and great service. Usually is quite busy. You can also visit the museum when it is open at the weekend. Masks are now optional, but keep your distance where possible. You can eat outside in the Wilderspin playground if the weather is good enough.
