We went for the very first time on Sunday 17th June. The staff are very friendly.
My daughter and I had the roast Beef which was lovely. My Grandson had the kids Burger and chips for a kids meal you certainly get a good meal. My Grandaughter had sausage mash and peas which was also a good portion ( but she didn't like Lincolnshire sausage Just think that could be put on the menu which sausages they use and that it's served with gravy which we had to send back as she don't like gravy. Kids are so fussy )
Any never mind any of that most defently will be going back with more family members.
Lovely good lovely staff nice pub!
5 star steak pie ! Rammed with steak and not a bit of fat ! Just as I like.
And top marks for the waitress.
I came here tonight with friends and the food was amazing! The wheatcheaf has really developed its menu and I am looking forward to coming here again! I had the belly pork and it was to die for! Totally recommend!
Eat here every week with family always good food and great value . Pleased to see the new menu today at lunch time full of exciting new additions with a bit of umph! We all thought food was excellent special mention to the Home made fish finger sandwich , Welsh rarebit and slow cooked belly pork with black pudding croquettes and fresh veg . Lovely pub great service and fab food and reasonable prices . Worth the trip out every week.
Have been here before and never let us down ... Had fish and chips , something i don’t usually eat because i have IBS,but this was delish, didnt affect me at all , haven’t tasted such tasty fish for ages..
Arrived just after 8.30 when service had official ended, however like any good proffessionaly run establishment, the chef remained on duty. We had the fish and chips , along with sausage and mash, both meals were superb, fish very fresh sausages extremely tastey, chips wonderful.
An excellent meal.
Will return.
3 of us ate off the fantastic 3 course Christmas Dinner menu. The food was well cooked and presented and tasted delicious. Our friend ordered the steak and ale pie which she said also tasted great.
Debbie and Gee were great hosts and the place was buzzing! Thanks again for a lovely evening.
First visit here last Sunday, although we've visited Barton a few times, hasn't been in here before and what a find it is! Beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. The lady behind the bar was so friendly and made us feel right at home. I can honestly say that the Sunday dinners we had were THE BEST I've ever tasted. Couldn't fault a single thing. The honey roast ham was melt in the mouth, the gravy rich and delicious, amazing yorkie puds, the veg was perfectly cooked. Huge portions. I'm almost drooling thinking about it! Can't wait to return and hopefully have room for pudding next time. Definitely one of my new top places to eat and drink.
Great meal in a lovely pub. Nice outside areas and staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Hope to return soon
Been a few times for food and it is always very nice. The portion sizes are very generous. The staff are friendly and happy to help.

Well, what can I say other than the food was absolutely marvellous as were the staff. We had two take out meals for my elderly parents as well and they thoroughly enjoyed theirs too. Thank you to you all xx
Visited for lunch. Light bites just the right size for us. Great steak and good sausages. Real chips too.

Had Sunday lunch it was excellent, very reasonably priced for good quality food. We will be returning
A really nice historic pub, with a good beer garden, and very helpful pleasant staff.
Brilliant food, ale and a friendly service.
Great service great price lovely food young lad on the bar excellent highly recommend
Not a bad little pub. I had the pulled pork burger. It was nice and tasty, and quite a mouthful! The beef patty was huge. The only minor thing i would say is that the pork was in lumps and had not been "pulled" apart. The atmosphere was nice and the decor looked modern and inviting. Nice place to spend some time.
We had Sunday Dinner and it was lovely, cozy atmosphere perfect for a chilly rain day. The staff are friendly and hospitable. The food was lovely, tasted great and I got extra gravy! Will definitely return.
Service excellent food lovely highly recommend anybody to visit for lunch.

Nice little cosy pub, just stopped for a tea break, but the food that was coming out looked lovely x
Popped in for tea with family while back in Barton after a long time. The food was amazing - freshly made and cooked. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie, and they asked if I was alright to wait for about 40 mins as they cook them fresh - I thought that was an excellent sign of skill and care in the kitchen. The steak melted in the mouth, with a beautiful flavour to the sauce, the pastry was perfect - not too crumbly or too solid, but just right. Chips were extra chunky and much appreciated. I have no photos as I was enjoying it too much to take them! My companions had the Liver and Onions which went down well, and the Hunters Chicken, which was so filling, they thoughtfully offered us the rest to take out. Service was great - everyone was friendly, helpful and attentive. We haven't seen each other for ages, so it was a great place to catch up and share stories while someone else took care of things. Had a brilliant evening, and hope to come back next time we're in the area. Thanks!
