Where do I start. My girlfriend and I have been on a fantastic adventure recently visiting different places for our holiday. Finally ending up near Winchester. Both exhausted just looking for some good home cooked food. A little research i found this gem. The food was just what we needed. Something made with passion something that felt you had gone round to your mates home and they were cooking you something special. Even though it was just a chicken burger. I have to say it was one of the best i have eaten. Warm inviting friendly atmosphere. It felt like your local you had not gone to for a few years and they still remembered what you would drink. If you are passing by, hungry and want to feel your at home. Go Here. Thank you for a lovely dinner and made to feel we were at home.

Two minutes from A303, much better than a service station! Good beer, amazing hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. Toddlers' play area and books. Kitchen opened at 6pm on Friday.

A real gem in the countryside, this pub offers a good selection of meals. They obviously have pride in their food, perfectly presented and very nicely made. Plenty of parking and a really attractive traditional English pub. Highly recommended

On our brief trip to Winchester, staying close by, we left the A303 to explore Barton Stacey and stumbled across The Swan. Such a warm welcome, and delightful atmosphere. The log fire lit and a throng of locals enjoying their evening with gentle chatter and laughter, all so friendly and happy to include us in conversation. We chose steak and ale pie, which turned out to be the most delicious pie we have eaten in a very long time!!! Buttery shortcrust pastry packed with tender steak and tasty gravy... Super scrummy. Not to forget the wonderful real ale which was a perfect accompaniment. We even came back the following evening on our way back north. Thank you for making us feel so at home. Still smiling hugely for two lovely visits. We will be back when next in the area. Very best wishes from Abberley in Worcestershire. A & P

We were welcomed to the garden, where the tables are well spaced amid a beautifully laid out garden. Very friendly landlord and lady, working hard to keep their locals happy whilst still hoping to welcome back their passing trade. Definitely worth a small detour on your way west, people!

Took our daughter here for her birthday meal tonight having found this place on Google. Wish we could rate it 10 stars! Food was absolutely delicious! And pleasantly surprised at the final bill price! And the staff were SO friendly and welcoming. We absolutely fell in love with Rudy the pub dog who was such a good and beautiful little boy. Thoroughly looking forward to our next visit- this has been our favourite pub meal we've had around this area since we moved here 5 years ago. Definately going to be a regular!
