Sat here on a wet and windy afternoon, enjoying being warm and dry with a hot coffee and freshly made pizza. Staff were all lovely. Nice to know the quality hasn't gone downhill in the 15 years since I last visited! A stunning location any time of year, definitely recommend.
Absolutely stunning!! I was a bit sceptical after reading reviews of poor service but I honestly couldn't fault them. We had a young lady called Scarlet who served us. I haven't received service like this in such a long time. Scarlet was so friendly with a beautiful smile all throughout. Her service was implacable from start to finish...such a great asset to the restaurant. The location was stunning and the food was amazing!! We will definitely be coming back.
We went here for dinner. Both steaks were overcooked but tasty so we didn't complain as it ruins the evening. As cheesecake is my favorite dessert I ordered it (I'd heard someone else order it before me to be told they didn't have any! Same waiter didn't tell me that they were sold out which surely she should have! Felt like the server didn't care.
Fantastic setting right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea and the isle of wight.
We ate in the marquee and it makes you feel that you're in a Mediterranean restaurant. Food is very good.
Booked a table and a room, to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary.
This came on recommendations from a friend of mine, who was nervous in case we never received the same service.
She was not to worry!
We got there in the afternoon and sat on the terrace, which is table service and had some cocktails and a few bar snacks and went to pay to put it on our room tab.
When asked what our name was, they had upgraded us to the Penthouse!!
AMAZING rooms, clean, tidy and fantastic views!
We had our meal at 6pm, such quality of food was second to none - will definitely recommend and will definitely come back!
Just a little slow on service, having to grab someone’s attention rather than them seeing glasses are empty but apart from that, our celebrations were great and we weee really looked after!
Great value for money. Perfect location with amazing views from the restaurants outside terrace. Free on site parking. Cleanliness of the rooms is outstanding. Friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely breakfast. Finally a restaurant where my fried egg arrived exactly how it is supposed to be. Same for the toasted sourdough. Somehow a lot of chefs struggle and/or neglect this.
Only penthouse comes with see view so don't expect the same quality view you get in the restaurant when in your room.
So why four and not five stars. Well, this place is rated/advertised as a 5* hotel so had to review it as such and below in my opinion is not befitting its current rating.
There's no 24h service and on Mon and Tues restaurant is closed so after 3 p.m. no one available at all.
Floorboards are extremely squeaky.
Towel rail in the bathroom was damaged so each time I've tried to pull out the towel it was falling apart. As there's no 24h service couldn’t report to anyone.
AC making some strange noise, possibly condensation water pipe is blocked?
WiFi very slow, 10MB download, 2MB upload.
No Netflix, doesn't connect even though it was supposed to and TV is a very small, corner one. My guess around 30".
Although the bed was fairly comfortable it was also very short. We’re not extremely tall and our feet were hanging out of the bottom when trying to stretch.
No safety deposit box in the room.
Overall I do recommend it. If I choose to stay again, I definitely will try a different room and if staying for longer than 1 nigh the obvious choice would have to be a penthouse. Also, will look not to stay either Mon or Tues so can try out the restaurant as well.
Four of us had lunch here. Sitting at a table overlooking the sea with panoramic views to the IOW, we had a delicious lunch. The waitress was efficient and friendly and the service excellent. A memorable occasion.
Good food, mostly good service, exceptional location which needs warm weather to be best appreciated. A little bit pricey if ordering fron the a la carte menu.
Had a nice meal, starters took an hour to arrive and 1 was missing but we're very nice, the main course arrived straight away after starters and we weren't given enough time between courses, but food was good, service just a little bit poor
Fabulous meal, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff excellent and helpful. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, best meal this year.
Had a lovely coffee at Pebble Beach out on the terrace, with fabulous views across to the IoW and The Needles. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Returning late afternoon on a Sunday, I would have to say it wasn't quite do good, limited staff and customers, with the atmosphere not quite o good.
We will return as it is a lovely place, supper coffee and a nice menu.
Went for a quick drink. Had a made to order ice tea. Hands down most refreshing drink I have ever had. Great views too. Will definitely be back!
