You won't find many pubs like this anymore. Good, honest grub, good range of drinks and food service. They had an amazing range of pies when we went, just in case you're a fellow lover. The big guy behind the bar was a legend.
Not been for a while, arrived about 1pm a number of older folks eating inside, we sat in the beer garden. I ordered food and didn't have to wait long. Good meal and good pub.

Absolutely fantastic pub. A hidden jewel right by the M6. I was staying in the Services Travelodge nearby, and in a search for decent food, I found this pub!
They weren't serving food that night, but promised me a hearty Steak and Ale pie for my second night if I came back.

Great beer. Characterful traditional country pub. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Within easy reach of Crewe, Newcastle-u-Lyme, and Stoke-on-Trent.
