Tried this chip shop tonight for the first time and we were not disappointed! After 16 months of living in South Wales we have FINALLY found a great chippy! They are cash only, so we had to dash to a convenience store to use a cashpoint. Really good service from a very friendly chatty man who I believe was the owner. We ordered cod and chips and it was perfect! The batter was light and crispy, perfectly cooked and the fish was delicious. Chips were also delicious and perfectly cooked, not greasy, just right. Generous portions. Cooked fresh while you wait, but not too long a wait at all. Very reasonably priced compared to other places. Cannot recommend this place enough. We will most definitely be back, just sorry it took so long to find them.

Popped in here at midday as I had a craving for fish and chips and the reviews looked favourable. I had the “senior lunch special “ cod and chips which was amazing value and great quality for the price. There was a short wait for the food as it was cooked fresh, but it was worth the short wait. The batter on the fish was extremely light and tasty, I will definitely return on my next visit to Barry.

Walking down Barry was miserable to say the least. Until... I came across "Harvey's Fish & Chippy". A hidden gem that offers some of the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. The crispy batter on the fish is perfectly golden brown and has just the right amount of crunch, giving way to a flaky and tender interior that is bursting with flavour. The chips are equally impressive - thick-cut and perfectly seasoned, with a delightful crunch on the outside and a fluffy, piping-hot centre. But what sets Harvey's Chippy apart is the attention to detail and quality of ingredients. The fish is incredibly fresh, and you can taste the care and expertise that went into preparing it. The portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. The service at Harvey's Chippy is top-notch as well. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they go out of their way to ensure that you have a memorable dining experience. The cosy and inviting atmosphere adds to the overall charm of the place, making it a great spot to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family. In summary, if you're looking for a fantastic fish and chips experience, I highly recommend Harvey's Chippy. The quality of the food and the warmth of the staff make it a true standout, and it's a place that I will definitely be returning to again and again.

Excellent fish and chips, drove the food home 30 minutes and it still tasted amazing. Fully halal (apart from the pies).

Unique (andblegendary!) fish and chip shop I've been going to for 50+ years (with a big gap in the middle). I only have veggy options nowadays, but my dad enjoys the fish. Very friendly, all cooked fresh before your eyes. The walking weatherman, Derek Brockway's favourite chippy. It's 5 star rayed by the council too.

Fish is super fresh, you see them batter your fish on order. The chips are proper chips with plenty of taste. The selection of curry sauce is brilliant. Great friendly service and at a good price. Differently worth a visit.

Despite moving away from Barry, I still make the pilgrimage to Harveys, it is simply the best chippy for miles around. The food is cooked fresh in front of you daily. The fish batter is lovely and light, not the thick stodge you get in some places. The service is friendly and efficient, and prices are reasonable too. This is your other Barry Gem.
