We were lucky enough to have the entirety of The Weeping Willow for our wedding on May 4th. I can quite honestly say that this pub has just got ‘IT’- the service, the food, the setting, and the atmosphere is just so incredibly perfect. We were SO well looked after by Paula, Martin, Nick and their wonderful team of staff. I can not recommend this place highly enough- whether it’s for a drink in their beautiful garden, or a meal in their incredible Raspberry Room; we are so lucky to have it as a local! Suffolk residents should be banging the door down to eat here, it’s truly a very special place. Thank you all for giving us the most beautiful day of our lives. X

I ate here for the first time on my birthday. We were treated brilliantly from start to finish, the staff were all very polite and attentive. We were sat at the chefs table which was brilliant, the chefs all spoke to us and let us try different foods, whilst we watched them prepare the food. Talking about the food, it is delicious, I would go as far as saying that it is my new favourite place to eat in and around bury, the food combined with the staff and the beautiful building, really gives this place the edge over other restaurants around here. I will be going back as soon as possible!
After getting great feedback and recommendations myself and two friends decided to check out The Weeping Willow as a belated birthday treat. What a beautiful building, loved the look of the inside and was just sad it was dark so couldn’t see the outside very well, will defo come back for lunch to sit outside. One of the party wanted just a small meal so was allowed to order from the kids menu which looked very nice, better then the normal kids food that’s normally served. The main meal for myself was amazing, very tasty and just the right amount. Loved the selection of gin too which was my only downfall £20 for 2 g&t was a bit expensive for me but it was a treat....I’d defiantly recommend The Weeping Willow. Staff were lovely very polite and helpful.
I could not rate this place highly enough! We had such a lovely lunch in the Raspberry Room today, the staff and food were amazing. The place itself is just stunning and the man behind the bar was so friendly and sweet. Cannot wait to come back again. Thanks guys! :)
Our Second meal at the Weeping Willow and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Fantastic food and a lovely environment well with the drive from Long Melford
We have been to the Weeping Willow 3 Times - don’t recognise some of the reviews because we love it! Great ambience with very stylish decor and furniture, lovely atmosphere with all ages, dogs and families, gorgeous dining room with a modern British twist. Never had any problems with the service. The food is excellent with modern twists, definitely a step above normal pub grub and restaurant standard taste and presentations. Congrats on a great addition to local restaurant and pub scene
Top class service and food. The wow factor from the minute you arrive. We visited on a busy Saturday evening for my daughter's 18th. It certainly was the right choice for somewhere special. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. They made up a perfect meal for our slightly fussy 11 year old. Made the birthday girl feel special and served up the best starter and main meal I have ever tasted. The steaks were cooked to perfection. One member of our group likes it blue and he said it was the best he had ever had. What a little gem we have found..... can't wait to return.
Popped in yesterday for lunch with my husband, daughter and son-in-law ( we had intended to eat somewhere else but didn’t like their menu or the service.)
We hadn’t booked it was 2pm and quite busy but the staff were very accommodating and we were seated and brought drinks with out waiting.
The food was delicious, the staff were lovely and the place is amazing , we will certainly be back!!!
A lot has been said about The Weeping Willow, nearly all of it positive feedback from happy customers, so I do not intend to repeat what has already been said. I went on Saturday to celebrate a birthday with a group of friends and have to say that every aspect of our evening from greeting and service to standard of food and presentation was absolutely excellent and the meal itself was one of the very best I have tasted at any establishment and was great value for money. The owners have quite obviously shed blood, sweat and tears to get this right and the thought behind the decoration, standard of renovation and various quirky features shine like beacons in the night. No matter where you go there will always be the odd person who submits a gripe about having to wait longer than they had expected and I am sure that readers will appreciate that. At the end of the day - this is a pub restaurant that could be confused for a fine dining venue and in a short space of time has soared above any other place I know.
Fantastic food, great service and kind, welcoming staff! I would highly recommend The Weeping Willow to anyone and will defiantly be returning myself. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Long overdue after all the reports, but was treated to dinner on Saturday. Everything was outstanding. The welcome, the atmosphere, the food, the drink, the service and attitude were top. It’s a wonderful destination in all respects and can not wait to return
What a lovely pub! Decor is perfection, food is fabulous and I love that you can bring your dogs. Feels like home and made for an enjoyable meal out. Will certainly recommend it and will be back soon!
Lovely lunch as always here today. Great food and service in a beautiful setting. Crayfish salad is to die for
One of my favourite places to eat at near Bury, especially with my elderly relative who lives nearby. The food is delicious and service normally good. With the large windows and also direct view into the kitchen it's an attractive and welcoming space. Strange that I can only leave a review for the hotel that I've never stayed at, but I can definitely vouch for the restaurant.
What a treasure the Weeping Willow in Barrow is. Such a pretty village. My husband and I stayed in the Oak Lodge set in a meadow with other lodges behind the pub. Very quiet setting. Very comfortable, clean lodge with king bed, large shower and a bath with toiletries. Tea and coffee station. Clean towels and top up of tea etc every day. Breakfast was delicious with various choices to suit all. We did eat in the pub the first night and was pleased to see the place was very busy even for a Monday. My husband had a burger and I had chicken supreme with mushroom and butterbean fricassee. Absolutely delicious, first class. The whole stay of 3 nights was top notch. The surrounding countryside is glorious, gently rolling and although not far from Bury St Edmunds, it was a perfect countryside spot. Thoroughly recommend the pub for food and exceptional service and the lodges for comfort. Thank you to the whole team. Would definitely return.
Although arriving early the pub was buzzing. The atmosphere felt friendly and welcoming. Service was quick and food quality good.
Our only issue was the very limited veggie/vegan choice on offer.
One starter and one main.
The one main on offer, was small (not much bigger than a starter), however it was delicious and attractively presented (tbh pitched against other mains delivered to the table, it represented poor value for money) it would have been nice to have been offered maybe garlic bread or another side to accompany.
We will definitely return, just hope there will be more choice available!
Gorgeous garden. Brilliant staff and always an atmosphere!
It's pretty expensive yes, but represents perfectly that you get what you pay for.
I honestly think it's the staff though that makes it so good.
Go.
We had such a wonderful experience here. The food was delicious and the service was par excellence. Unexpectedly we ended up staying the night in one of the new cabins which was utterly gorgeous. So well thought out and comfortable. And even with baby and dog in tow it was a seamless experience.
My first visit here and for sure I'll be back. Blown away from the moment I walked in - stunning open dining area facing a full height windows. The service was splendid from all the team welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was delightful we ate the flat iron steak, burger and chocolate mouse for desert all super tasty. Definitely worth seeking this little gem of a village pub out if you live in the Cambridge / Newmarket / Bury St Edmunds area. Thanks team you made lunch with my mum all the more memorable ❤️
It was a lovely evening for the 8 of us in the Rhubarb room.... all of our first times dining with you and it was great. A birthday celebration to remember.
Id wanted to come to the Weeping Willow for a long time, having only been for drinks previously- so it was a perfect occasion and we were well looked after. We'd all come from some distance but it was well worth it. Thank you to the whole Weeping Willow team! Jessica.
Our first visit here for a last minute birthday lunch for my husband; perfect experience. The food was delicious, excellent service and beautiful surroundings. Loved it, and will definitely be coming again.
Fantastic meal and brilliant service.
We were a party of 5 and a springer spaniel. We had the table in the snug (41) which is perfect if you like a cosy area with room for your 4 legged friend!
Lots of pubs claim to be dog friendly but then say you can only eat outside or in the bar area, The Weeping Willow IS dog friendly, you can sit anywhere in the pub with your dogs, perfect for us.
Food was delicious, highly recommend the roast pork and beef, all served with crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and delicious, perfectly cooked vegetables, so yummy.
Already booked to go back in March!
Had a delicious meal here, service is faultless, great ambience and decor. Menu is small but well put together. I had the trout starter and chicken main. Both very good, the trout starter was exceptional, interesting combination of flavours.
I had tiramisu for dessert but found it too big and too creamy for my taste. In fact I would say the pudding menu although fine lacked some of the sophistication of the starters and mains.
Very extensive wine list, well ordered.
All in all a lovely meal.
First time staying in one of your beautiful lodges. Loved the decor, colours, layout, amazing bathroom and very comfy bed. Also loved the tea, coffee etc, hardly ever find my favourite camomile tea in a hotel/lodge. Lovely breakfast in the morning followed by a super family lunch in the Raspberry Room. A perfect weekend. Thank you.
Best Sunday lunch out in a while.
Cauliflower cheese delicious 🤤
Everything was very flavoursome and portion sizes were better than previous visits.
It was our first visit to the Weeping Willow and it won't be our last.
Absolutely loved the place, friendly and not over attentive staff. Food was amazing and not been anywhere like that in a very long time.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Thank you
It's a lovely environment with a buzz within the restaurant. Staff so lovely and friendly (it was very busy)
This was our second time (both either friends who hadn't been before). Both couples want to visit again. We certainly will, albeit it's 1hr and half away
Really nice experience. Staff were brilliant, accommodation great.
We stayed the night before a local marathon, and we were kindly allowed breakfast early as a special request. What an excellent service we received 👌😁
Thank you weeping willow team.
