Good value hotel. Stayed for 4 nights. Staff went out their way to help and actually upgraded my room from a single to a double, which was a nice touch. Meals were huge! I went into bar once to watch the football, and good atmopshere. Good value hotel at its price point.
More modern than I expected inside from the exterior & location. No cask ales,but friendly enough. It's sat in an unusual dock side location serving very local housing. Lively,even on a Monday lunchtime with music at high volume. Because of location it isn't pub you'd really chance upon by accident but if passing I'd certainly go in again.
The royal has recently been updated thanks to the new management who have obviously invested time and money into the hotel. The staff and customers are always friendly and it's a nice place for a drink with friends.
The whole place has had a massive spruce up and is absolutely stunning now. The rooms are completely different to pictures posted on here. Wonderful experience and staff are amazing.
The Royal is near my home it has a good local following and many visitors which return often. The food in the restaurant is excellent i can honestly say I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered, the staff are friendly and willing to help when ever ask.
Loved the free welcome drink at the bar. Nice breakfast. There are problems with the maintenance. But the staffs have nice way to solve problems.
Frequented by locals and paying guests (mainly contractors at BAE and the offshore wind farms I should imagine) the Royal is a friendly place and has dining facilities, a games room, paved beer garden and features live sports on TV.
Deceptive, spacious rooms and friendly hosts. Superb food. Would certainly recommend it for people who need a base to work from.
Lovely place, a bit battered at the edges, lovely staff great breakfast, very reasonably priced.
Very low fare. Clean Rooms and friendly service. Good Restaurant with fair prices and good English breakfast.
