Only a visitor not a resident. Hard to find staff, though they were pleasant when i did. Not much to offer non residents. Furnishings & public areas , quaint & beautiful. Quite a relaxing place to sit & chill.
A Masive thanks to Auther at the Chetwynde Hotel for looking after me when I was unable to complete my journey home from the Falklands last night because of the snow.
I rang up, reserved a room, was upgraded and made to feel at home.
I wad dead on my feet after a 20 hour flight followed by a 9 hour
Lovely, quaint little bed and breakfast. What the room lacks, the charm and service makes up for. Having said that the room was comfortable and clean. Could use a little refresh and updating, especially the bathroom but for the price and convenience of being near my destination it didn’t bother me.
Beautifully executed funeral function. Efficiently carried out with care and exceptional professionalism .
Food supplied was exceptional a wonderful range of sweet & savoury all fresh and very tasty .
The staff especially the younger members were outstanding . Well done to all concerned .
The hotel
Lovely place, great rooms, we had a disability room, easy parking, quiet place to sleep, near shops and all local areas around it is on the flat. Only issue you need the entrance card to open the outside door, and keep the lights on in the room. So if you only get one card, turn on the bedside lamps
Absolute jewel of a find! Beautiful, classic hotel, tastefully furnished with the very warmest of welcomes from the lovely owner and his staff. Well appointed room with comfortable bed and large en-suite. Luscious breakfast and a relaxing bar area for later. Such a refreshing change from the usu
A nice hotel, close to where I needed to be, very nice room, friendly staff, a quirky hotel with a bit of character in the main part, reminded me of yesteryear but I liked that about it, I would definitely use this hotel again when I have to be in Barrow a few days.
I just wish they'd done evening m
Free parking in hotel car-park, with disabled access to the hotel available. Toilet facilities are on the ground floor.
The private function had the use of two adjoining, comfortable lounges (one with bar), and a lovely tea was served in a delightful dining room, with access to the garden.

We have stayed here twice now. Reasonably priced hotel that offers a really good breakfast with plenty of choice included in the price. Full English/Irish, eggs Benedict, cereal, porridge, toast, tea and coffee etc.
The hotel rooms have comfy beds and a tv plus there is a hospitality tray in the ro
The reason why me and my fiancee are rating five star is that we have just come back after staying two nights. We have been here before. The owners/ staff we all kind, welcoming, polite and Professional The breakfast was excellent. The room was high standard. Me and my fiancee will be coming back
A nice hotel, the rooms were more clean and functional than luxurious, but the bathroom was a good size for my mobility needs.
Most of the staff were friendly and the disabled access good.
They also hosted a wake for us, the buffet food was nice and what was left over they kindly wrapped up for us
my room was modern and clean. i had a good night sleep with no issues. much cheaper than the chain hotels and just as comfortable.
We had such a great 2 night stay there this past weekend. Room large & reasonably priced, all the staff friendly & helpful and didn't mind us hanging around in the lounge after we checked out. We will be back!
Friendly staff, well furnished rooms. We stayed in the modern wing. Spacious bathroom. The restaurant food was good, if a tad expensive. Has a small garden and good parking. Very polite and courteous staff.
We used this hotel as our base for exploring the lakes every day.
Very good hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, nice room with good bathroom and blackout curtains, no complaints whatsoever.
