Only review I've ever written but I loved this little place! Stayed for work. The room was lovely and the staff cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. And the food in the pub was great and good value I struggled to spend my expenses allowance � Had a very small issue with a leak in the room (didn't bother me but advised mainly as it was dripping on electrics) landlord John was here in half hour to take a look and do a temp repair. Great service and will be back next month!
Lovely place with great food, helpful staff that do anything for you...... even to serving me a refreshing pint of ice cold milk.

Enjoyed my stay staff are very friendly and so welcoming they cannot do enough for you the room are lovely and cosey very clean and tidy well worth the money I spend. I would highly recommend this to anyone for a nice get away.
Absolutely brilliant.... stayed last night with my partner and could not fault the welcome by staff and locals brilliant bunch of people, the rooms I could not fault very high standards would recommend anyone here and will be definitely coming again

It's our local so been many times. We find the staff and land lady very friendly. The place has a good atmosphere and the food is lovely.
We went for a meal yesterday we pre-ordered as it was a very large group. We got there and we were able to wait outside in the sun and we were seated when the food was ready to be served. They brought the children's meals first which is wonderful as children don't like to wait. Considering how many of us there were we were all served very quickly and we were able to all eat together. Lovely food lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Great pub, great food, best beer garden in Barrow. And friendly helpful staff. Did i also mention shows the football n Rugby too. Get yourself there.
Gorgeous room, very peaceful and extremely comfy bed, had a lovely night away. Staff lovely and very helpful. Just a shame it isn't bed and breakfast! Would highly recommend!

Great Rooms! Really Modern and cosy! Jill the Landlady I presume was really helpful and welcoming! All the staff were great. Maybe put some background music on whilst having Dinner all we could hear was the football from the Bar � but we still had a fantastic and comfy stay! Would stay here again next time we’re in Barrow! We had a one night stay, as we were visiting the area to visit the South Lakes Safari Zoo. We had a very comfortable stay, the bed was huge and very comfy, there were extra pillows available too, which came in handy. the bathroom was spacious and the shower was great. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Would definitely return. The only downside that I had was the fact there wasn't a hair dryer, but it wasn't a major problem.

Not been for years I used to live 50m away and spent a great deal of time in there. Still a very nice pub, comfortable and clean. They had run out of the original Thwaites beer which was always kept perfect back in the 80s and 90s so was a little disappointed to have not tried it again.
Had food here as we were staying the night, there was a function on which is fine! However the waitresses were rushed off their feet as one of the staff members had called in sick - made worse by the fact what seemed to be the owner just sat on the sofa watching rugby whilst 2 members of staff rushed around!
Lovely rooms at a reasonable price, super big beds. Beams all over the place, The pub is very nice with good pub food at normal fair prices, but stops serving at eight pm and booking is recommended. Location is fab, just on the edge of a posh housing estate.backing onto fields. Five minutes drive from town center.
Live locally and been in plenty of times for food but never left a review. This time myself and my wife visited on a Saturday afternoon for drinks and sat in the lounge bar area away from the restaurant. Bar area was busy with Rugby fans which made for a good atmosphere. Good choice of beers and had had an enjoyable afternoon. Bar staff were friendly and service was good. Our kids joined us later on and enjoyed a few games of pools and said d they enjoyed themselves so gives me and the wife an excuse for another afternoon in the pub in the future.
My partner and I visited for an evening meal during our stay in Barrow from Durham. I had the lasagna and he had the gammon steak. We shared a cheesy garlic bread. The food was very tasty, big potions and very good value for money. Compliments to the chef for a great meal.
A great find food is excellent, well worth going back to.
