Absolutely the best Fizzy Friday we've had. We went to celebrate my Mother-in-Law's 70th birthday. The staff just couldn't do enough for us, really friendly and kind. The food was all beautifully cooked and tasted wonderful. All you can eat and s glass of fizz for just £15. We will be coming back. Well done The King Alfred, it's about time a venue like yours pampers their guests. Fabulous 😁🥂
The service was excellent the food was lovely and there was plenty on the plate, the chips are to die for. You don't have to wait long between meals and the staff are very welcoming and helpful and gave service with a smile. I would definatly recommend your establishment to everyone that I know.
First time visiting the King Alfred . Had afternoon tea. Couldn't eat it all so the kind staff gave us takeaway boxes to take some home. Delicious food and friendly staff. Will definitely be back and recommend it to friends

The pub is very clean and tidy, and has a lovely atmosphere.

Walked in didn’t book. The place was busy but they found us a table. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, no rushing to get the table. Very reasonable price. Will be back

My family & I came on the 20th March, all 17 of us. It was a last minute booking after we decided to go somewhere for dinner after my grandfathers funeral. Everyone of us loved the food and really appreciate that you took our booking without a pre order at such short notice. Totally recommend, thank you!
Fabulous fizzy Friday. Wonderful food service and atmosphere. Great value for money and excellent entertainment to carry on the experience into early evening. I would strongly recommend this to all.
I was there on Friday 5th may , 8 of us enjoying a birthday celebration . The food ,service etc. Was absolutely superb. The value for money was excellent . The live music in the bar was an added bonus . Highly recommend it ,and my friends and I will certainly be returning .

Went here on the 13th January for my son's 40th and husband's 65th and retirement we were in the stag room what can I say absolutely brilliant all food came out hot and together looked after very well would recommend to everyone will be going over again thank you for making it a memorable night �

We had a party of 30 booked tonight for my Mum's 60th birthday. The customer service and food was excellent, thank you for your efforts to make this such a special night, we all had a great time.
I was there with 8 friends for Fizzy Friday on May 5th...everyone of us found it faultless..incredible value for money, very good service and delicious food. Brilliant that there is live music at 4pm in the bar area...we were up dancing in no time! Great atmosphere, will definitely return.
Haven't been in a while as heard the food had gone downhill but can say they have picked it back up again. Food was delicious. Very big portions. Cakes look amazing but didn't have room for them. Staff always attentive and friendly. Will def be going again
Had a lovely Christmas roast here. It was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. The chef also came out to check if we were happy with our meals.

Great pub n restaurant, excellent hot n cold food, lush cakes 🍰 lovely atmosphere never disappointed when we visit only done 4* for rooms as never used them coz I live local but know of friends that have stayed and rated them well!

Was the first time I have stayed here and was met by Amanda on arrival who was very polite and helpful throughout my stay.
Room was nice and food and menu was very good.

Went for a meal with family, good food and friendly staff. A bit pricey but worth it :)
We didn't stay here but had dinner in the restaurant. I am following a gluten free diet and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. There were three pasta dishes on tonight and all could be made with gf pasta. The fish and chips were also gf. Unfortunately the puddings weren't but, as it's Summer, I could have the meringue with fruit and cream which was very nice. My family enjoyed their meals and service was good. We'll be back!
Despite booking a table, when we arrived it wasn't in the booking list. The staff did find us a table eventually. Food good.

Went this morning for breakfast. The service was excellent, even with my friend being the fussiest person ever when ordering a full English. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Price wise was spot on.
Absolutely delicious meal. So many gluten free options, even the batter on onion rings and fish was gluten free. Sadly our food took almost an hour from ordering but to be fair it was worth the wait. All staff were friendly. Well definitely return.
