Love this place! Food is amazing and all the staff are lovely. Really lovely pub. Attended the fun day on bank holiday weekend and it was great. Would definately recommend this pub.
Setting/building: beautiful. Beer/cider: excellent in both variety and condition. Ambience: tasteful music not too loud, friendly staff and good clientele. Food was better here than a similar dish at a central Cambridge restaurant. Worth the drive out- no, actually a taxi as there's enough gin to keep you well over the limit. Excellent all round and great value for money. Unpretentious excellence.
We won the competition for dinner and drinks . It came at the perfect time too. As tonight was out last meal out together before our big day on Saturday. Food was amazing!! Friendly staff in a lovely village pub. X
I have eaten fish and chips in many restaurants but the fish and chips I had last night at the Royal Oak were the best I have ever tasted! Amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Very welcoming village pub, fantastic food and fantastic staff and service!
Absolutely lovely village pub, the food was presented beautifully and tasted lovely, myself and the hubby will definitely return in the future, the staff were very pleasant and friendly.
We had our wedding breakfast here 3 years ago! Great food, haven't tried the Bishop Nick beer yet but I know the brewer! Also not yet tried Broker's Gin!

Lovely place! I will definitely come back and will recommend to all my friends! :)
We had a great time in Barrington, Cricket Club car boot sale and visiting the Church, came up from London bringing family from Norway. To top it off having a great lunch at the Royal Oak.
Great location. Full of character. Fantastic service. Amazing food. A real gem.
Lovely pub serving great food and drinks, superb atmosphere complimented by the high quality service from all of the brilliant staff.
Excellent customer service and quality ingredients used to achieve wonderful food
Fantastic pub/restaurant! The staff here were really welcoming, the looked after us and our dog really well. Lauren was fantastic and a credit to the team here! The pub manager was also very friendly and accommodating.
This venue is really cozy, the food is delicious and good value. I'd recommend a selection of the small plates for Tapas dining. We really enjoyed dining here and looking forward to coming back again.
Lovely, homely & welcoming cottage pub!
Popped in for a quick bite, thinking it'll be another country pub but was pleasantly suprised by the quality of not only the food, but the venue and professionalism of our waiter. Would definitely recommend!
I had camambere with bread (crostini's) and chutney starter, good value for money compared to other places, some areas of food in general quite salty, so important to state preference when placing order.
Had flat iron steak for main, my go to choices are rib eye or fillet usually. Thought would try. Tasty, but prefer tenderness of fillet. Dessrt was Sticky toffee pudding.
Drinks -asked for zero cider like koppenburg or old moat cider zero, did not have. Thought st clements (orange juice and bitter lemon) no bitter lemon. Had full fat bottled coke yay, had this and was lovely.
End of meal latte coffees were amazing.
Chris the manager was also very professional, approachable. Happy for feedback, negative and positive. His team were amazing xxx Royal oak has its own car park. Drive in the right side entrance nearest building, drive out nearest left side wall (if you facing the building).
Highly recommended, cant wait to visit again x
Visited for Sunday lunch and we had the roast beef. Food was excellent, a good choice of drinks available too. We had a family roast for two which is good value as it has an extra side. Service was attentive and not fussy. Good atmosphere in the pub with plenty of customers.
Delicious food on their reopening night and super friendly staff. We’d not visited before but will certainly be back again. If you are driving through the village or in the area, make sure you pop in. You won’t be disappointed.
Absolutely fantastic food, great service in a lovely pub. We had a family roast for two (£40) which had 8 beautifully cooked (slightly pink) bits of beef with plenty of veg, Yorkshires, gravy etc. The desserts were some of the best we've had - certainly in a pub. And it's in a lovely location on the edge of Barrington green...
First time here when visiting our son and granddaughter locally. Warm welcome, wonderful country pub with an excellent menu, fantastic food, excellent banana parfait on the specials menu and efficient, genuinely good service. Really well looked after by the staff. Highly recommended. Will definitely be a regular patron. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just had a Sunday family lunch here. Lovely! Beautiful pub, very friendly and helpful staff and gorgeous food. We all left very happy. Thank you!
I'm very impressed with this lovely restaurant/pub. Beautiful location, and plenty of room, with a welcoming atmosphere. The Sunday roast was delicious, with plenty to go around (they offer a platter for 2). They are on the pricey side, but you really get what you pay for. Car park is a little snug so you may want to get there a little earlier. Sticky toffee sandwich for dessert - definitely not a winner for me, far too salty for my palette, but tried my friend's chocolate brownie, which was delicious.
Busy but great pub/restuarant in a beautiful village setting. We booked and visited for Sunday lunch which did not dissapoint. We chose to eat in the garden area which was lovely. The food service was very quick - the drink service a little slow. It would have been preferable to have received our drink order before the food.
Four of us dropped in at the Royal Oak for an unplanned lunchtime get together and we were very pleasantly surprised. We received a very warm welcome from Lauren in the bar and she explained very clearly all the beers and food options available. We decided to go for the local Papworth beer and the bar snacks. We were very pleased with our choice, the beer was exceedingly good, the food was very tasty and the service was excellent. Very many thanks to Lauren for looking after us so well. We will certainly return to the Royal Oak and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a most enjoyable pub offering good beer and quality food.
Grade || listed building, an amazing restaurant with exceptional decoration. Food was very tasted, well cooked and beautiful!! Prices a bit high but we'll worth it. Would definitely visit again.
Went for Sunday lunch. 21-5. It's absolutely brilliant. Started with a couple of pints, Lacons bitter a fish Starter for 2. Pork belly main (a very good serving and nicely good) and a sticky toffee pudding desert. All washed down with a bottle of red. Staff, very good, lovely surroundings. Just go, you won't be disappointed.
Nice gastropub in a beautiful village on the outskirts of Cambridge. Has a good menu, with a variety of options from standard "British" fare to a grill with more "meaty" options.
A nice old fashioned character interior is matched with a large outdoor seating area overlooking the longest village green in the UK.
Lovely food, good beer and wine selection, and some delicious puddings to finish off with.
Part of a chain in the area, the food quality is the centrepiece of the group. But the Oak has a particular commitment to be a locals friendly establishment and so the social bar and eating areas are separate. This key division works perfectly. The bar side serves light bites of superior style, the main restaurant has a solid choice but the service and the end result is noticeably better than one might expect. On a warn spring afternoon, we had very well kept ales and then had a really enjoyable meal of chicken pie , and pan fried hake. Both excellent.
Welcoming staff, hard working and engaging.
Highly recommended, when weather is poor the interior is period and comfortable, one visit will not be enough. You will be back.
I Galway’s have, and always will, it seems, love this place. I had the most delicious burger I’ve had in ages, and my colleague’s vegan curry was, according to him, outstanding!
Sit in the front facing the High Street - less High Street, more like a park setting!!!
Great pub in a beautiful setting, had focaccia appetiser then Sunday lunch with wine, and coffee afterwards, all was excellent. Friendly service who got everything right.
