FANTASTIC food and good service. Love this gem of a place in the heart of Barnstaple. Been on a Thursday night! Really enjoyed the music thank you.
Fab pizza’s and friendly staff , lovely old building built 1400’s but didn’t manage to bump into any ghosts though .

Having heard great things about pizza express catering for gluten and dairy free its safe to say my daughter absolutley loved her meal as did we all. Very clued up and my daughters food even came on different plates to identify that it was special dietry requirements will deffo be back again. You made my little girls day and the satff where fantastic

Delicious freshly cooked pizza and dough balls in a cosy prime location restaurant. Staff are friendly and happy to accommodate more complex requests.
The reasturant has both upstairs and downstairs seating so don't be put off visiting if it looks busy though the window. Online and telephone bookings are accepted.
Love coming here... so simple and fresh and always great service.
the service here on Valentine's Day was absolutely fantastic, the staff were very warm and inviting and the food was amazing. During our meal a member of public came in (not a customer) he was very abusive to the staff and they handled it very well, the assistant manager and Michaela. Special mention to Hayden, Niki and Michaela for their fantastic table service as well.

Very good sized portions ( not too big). Quality over quantity. I had calzone which was very good, normally English ones are huge and nothing like you get in Italy. My family's other pizzas were all good. Nice small restaurant.
The staff here are always wonderfully polite, friendly, and helpful. The menu is equally as nice, with options for vegans like me! Which can be hard to find, so knowing such a popular chain restaurant has options is great. The restaurant is located in a historical building with warm inviting decor. Perfecting for a relaxed meal. Although the food and location Is wonderful, its the ever amazing staff that truly wins this place the 5 stars.
Booking is a must. We tried to walk in early on a Tuesday evening and it was full (I recommend Giovanni's if you can't get a table here) and returned the following evening with a booking. As Pizza Express often do they have chosen a delightful old building. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food was served promptly to the high standard I expect from Pizza Express. High chairs are available and because the restaurant is small, staff will happily store push chairs out the back.

Amazing food. Made fresh and a great quality. I love the fact they do birthday party's. It brings in more customers. Beautiful place and kept in amazing condition. Service is professional and helpful at all times.
Wnderful pizza with wonderful staff with wonderful atmosphere.
Good service friendly. The restaurant is in the old three tuns pub with a lot of the original features kept (you can see a shoe from bygone era). I remember when the place was a pub, good atmosphere and plenty room upstairs and down. Bring a party or dine as a couple suits all and you get a good meal
Staff were excellent and very accommodating. We had 3 young children with us and they looked after the children in every way. Food was very good and we were very pleased we chose Pizza Express.

Some very good aspects and some not so great ones.
Always been a fan of this place, and the one in Exeter. It seems, sadly, like it's gone downhill slightly.
Straight off the bat I wanna say the food is amazing, but as you'll read, the service leaves a bit to be desired.
I tried to book a table the night before (Thursday) and went through the usual process I always have. When it came to pressing the "Book" button... It just did nothing. I tried on my laptop, I tried logging out, but nothing worked. So, the only logical thing would be try again the next morning. Unfortunately, this failed again. So, at 11:30am, I rang up. I asked to book a table and she was very condescending as if I wasn't meant to phone them? She said she'd get someone who "knew how to deal with that" and then I quickly had my details taken and was rushed off the phone.
We went in later (me and my gf) and waited at the door to be seated as we always have. Then, we were served and I said I had a table booked; they looked confused and then after 5 minutes said "just sit at any of those 2-seat tables." I mean, a bit disorganised but I wasn't going to be annoyed at having a choice of table?
We sat down and after 5 minutes a very polite waitress said we'd have to move tables as someone was booked in at ours; she was apologetic and i knew it was her colleague who made the mistake. Our food came shortly after ordering and it was very good. I had the Vegan Pollonesca and my date had the Cannelloni. Looked great, mine tasted great and I was happy with the service after we had sat down. Then, the dessert came. I don't exaggerate here when I say it was probably the best cheesecake I've had. I cannot recommend it enough.
Overall, a nice experience; and with a bit more staff training; a perfect one.
Absolutely the best staff in here , they all go the extra mile to make sure we had the best time. Lovely food and location. Accommodated 8 of us last minute, 4 of us children.
The atmosphere here is so warm and beautiful. It has a gorgeous fireplace and there has been nothing on the menu that I didn't like! Be sure to order my favorite dessert, Cafe Reale. I don't have a location near me in Toronto, so I look forward to this every time I visit Ilfracombe. 💕

I'm not massive on pizza expresses, or pizza. The staff here were great. I didn't order the vegan baked mushroom so the lady got me a regular one. I preferred the vegan in the end.
