Really tasty food but did find that it was a bit pricey. Having said that we went on a Thursday and the offer is buy 1 burger get 2nd free so this made it a much better price. Really pleased with the vegan options- burger, buns, sauces, cheese, jackfruit and other choices too. The chips are delicious. My son really enjoyed the child's cheeseburger.

This place is excellent! Staff are super friendly (including the owner (?) who stopped by for a chat), food is tasty, and hilariously over the top! The burgers are build-your-own, with a choice of cheese (from cheddar to goat's cheese to halloumi), topping (including bacon, black pudding, and for a bit extra things like slow cooked pork belly). My friend got the topping of the month (lasagne! apparently the genius result of a drunken conversation) and mac and cheese on this burger, and seeing him try to bite into it was the true highlight of the evening. Giving 4 stars because my burger was more well done than I would have liked, and the guacamole (including on the nachos) is kind of underwhelming. But would def go back!

I'm a very fussy eater, so building a custom burger and selecting everything from salads to sauces was great. Food was delicious, I can reccomend the beef brisket as a topping!

Build your own burger, fantastic idea. Choose your burger, bun, salad, toppings, and sauce, mix and match how you like. Then you get the chance to upgrade your fries, cheesy chips, pulled pork etc, almost a meal on its own. A one off quirky place, great staff. Loved it.

Really liked this place, was a group off (16), food was alright, service wasn't the best, then went to get a drink and can't pay at the bar for your own drink, they have to put it on the groups tab which is a bit silly.

Booked a table for a friend's birthday recently. I had eaten here before years ago and couldn't really remember how good it was, but none of our party of 8 were disappointed! So great to be able to adapt your meal to suit your own tastes, even though it took us all a while to choose what to include in our burgers! Great portion sizes, food was hot, fresh and tasty, and service was fab too. Lovely place to eat for a good price. We'll be back!

(Table of 4) Considering we had pre-ordered from the Christmas menu, the food still took an hour and a half to arrive. We were, however, given a free drink each as compensation. The food was absolutely delicious and would definitely visit again.

So my boyfriend and I lost our Custom House virginity last night, and to say we were impressed is an understatement. Delicious food, in a warm and welcoming environment. Can highly recommend the topped rodeo fries!! Staff were all friendly and professional. Will defiantly be returning again soon. A real gem of a restaurant to find in barnstaple ��

Disappointing. Visited years ago, and it was amazing. Tonight, however was incredibly disappointing. After ordering and starting drinks we attempted to order food. We were then informed that there was no chicken left. It was 8ish on a Saturday! We later learned they'd also run out of mozzarella, mushrooms & garlic bread. We wanted 3 of these 4 things. The lack of chicken was problematic as 2 of us wanted it. It basically meant about 30% of the menu was unavailable. There was a few miffed looking people in there.
Manager and staff were apologetic and comped our drinks. (Also, red wine was cold!!) Ended up cooking burgers at home.
The food last time was amazing. Just not sure if we can forgive tonight. How do you run out of a fundamental menu item? It would be like a pizza place running out of tomato sauce!
