..and a delightful date-night dinner spot. Which ever you choose, you're bound to be impressed by the simple yet perfectly crafted menu and their superbly friendly staff. We've done both, upstairs in the glasshouse and in the downstairs atmospheric dining area and loved it both
My last visit to the Claytons was a few years ago and was mediocre. Last night I was more than impressed. The place was fully booked on a Wednesday night but the kind server managed to get us a table. The food was delicious, high quality ingredients the menu has a lot of choices and so different

Amazing atmosphere and top tier service. I had the pigeon starter which had mushrooms in, I'm slightly intolerant and never before has a dish been so worth the cramps after. Everything was absolutely gorgeous, clean, cosy and we were treated so well
My wife and myself visited Barnstaple for a short break and the hotel owner reccomended Claytons and The Glasshouse.
We weren't disappointed, the food, the service and the atmosphere were fantastic.

Went here for an after-work social with some friends, and it was a super pleasant experience. The food and wine were so good, and the staff were friendly. I would recommend trying the glasshouse on the roof if it’s not too hot out. It’s a really pretty setting.
